Simi Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 How did Henry win MOM? Because he got the winner . Always happens. I thought Evra had a good game and I am convinced Scholes hardly gave the ball away once. Quality player.

Simi Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 Except in the run up to Arsenals first. Ok maybe then I do apoligise. But he still had a good game and regardless whether he was at fault for a goal or not United would struggle without him in my opinon.
Matt Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 BNP beckons for you......... Grow up mate. Ever wondered why our national team is so shite? I've got nothing against foreigners in the game, it'd be boring without them and they bring ALOT of skill to the game, what I do find annoying is when teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Bolton and co play a team full of foreigners without even a english/british player on the bench. I'm not saying if more English players played our national team would improve but surley it would be better for example should Walcott play more often he would gain more confidence, learn more, get more experience but instead Wenger buys him for millions, let him stay in the reserves with the odd cameo in the first team and comes out during the world cup and says he is good enough to play for England when he hasn't even played for Arsenal (At that time) That is why I am saying there should be a rule saying there should be x amount (I dunno something between 2 or 3 maybe 4 although 4 maybe to high) of English players in a team.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 Nice issues.........i'll read them next week.
Matt Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 Nice issues.........i'll read them next week. How do you know there nice issues if you ain't read them yet? Typical Arsenal fan I spose
Ajax Treesdown Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 How do you know there nice issues if you ain't read them yet? Typical Arsenal fan I spose I'm actually a 'typical' Leicester fan, who also follows Arsenal. Its you with the problem
Matt Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 What problem? I have a dislike for Arsenal...Everyone most people have a dislike for certain teams and i'm sure they have there reasons for it. It you who questioned it and thats where this has all led to the arguement.
Simi Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 Never seen such an angry bunch of 'fans' on a forum http://redcafe.net/

Simi Posted 21 January 2007 Posted 21 January 2007 Van Persie broke a bone in his foot when he scored Link Another metatarsal break. Another sub I need to make in my dream team
lcfc_jme Posted 22 January 2007 Posted 22 January 2007 I knew I was right to back Arsenal yesterday Showed good character to come from behind and win the game against an in-form United side (only the second time in 5 years they've lost after taking the lead isn't it??). Henry scored a header as well!! Uniteds undoing came about when they thought it'd be a good idea to run the clock down instead of taking the game to Arsenal. Shot themselves in the foot really. Unlucky on Van Persie as well. He's having a decent season.

If i was an Arsenal fan though, i'd get so frustrated at the way they just pass, pass and pass some more but rarely shoot.

If i was an Arsenal fan though, i'd get so frustrated at the way they just pass, pass and pass some more but rarely shoot. I see what you mean. They're content to play possession football and it costs them a lot of goals. Maybe if they shot a bit more they'd be up where Man Utd and Chelsea are at the minute? Thing is, they're sticking with a style which has worked for them in the past. And full credit to them for doing it because it shows that just because they're finding it difficult at the minute they aren't going to press the panic button - they'll continue to play the way they are and will grind out wins by somewhat forcing the issue at times.

Don't get me wrong, when it works it looks fantastic and brilliant to watch. But in games where it clearly isn't working, like Sheff U, they carry on doing it instead of having a plan b.

But in games where it clearly isn't working, like Sheff U, they carry on doing it instead of having a plan b. This is where it relates back to the point I made about them not pressing the panic button though. Henry gave an interview on Match Of The Day (or it could have been Football First on SS1) earlier this season saying the fans need to be patient because they won't change the way they're playing and they'll continue to be patient when trying to create chances to score. Poorer teams (such as Sheff Utd) won't exactly allow you to play pretty football. They'd prefer the game to be scrappy as that's the sort of football they're used to coming up from the Championship. Teams such as Arsenal hate scrappy games and struggle to carve results out from them - hence the reason they struggle so much against Bolton.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 January 2007 Posted 22 January 2007 Arsenal feel the need to walk the ball into the back of the net. I hate that. I like to see people shoot out of nowhere. Gotta love the element of surprise. I like John Arne Riise - the guy's immense. He just pops up and fires one goal-bound from 25, 30, 40, 50 yards even. It's just incredible. The one that rattled the bar against Chelsea... so close. I had said to my brother - but two minutes prior to his shot - I bet Riise has a pop from range soon, once he gets some space. Sure enough he got some space and unleashed a missile goal-bound. Lovely stuff. Arsenal's walk-it-in type football drives me to insanity from time to time. It's not as if they don't have players capable of shooting from 30 yards, but for some reason they just don't. What's that all about?

But in games where it clearly isn't working, like Sheff U, they carry on doing it instead of having a plan b. I beg to differ. Arsenal do (did) have 'Plan B' - we saw it against Manchester City earlier in the season. Trailing by a goal, they launched their plan. When I say launched, I mean that quite literally. They just pumped ball after ball up and over the top of everyone. Did it work? Did it fcuk. It wasn't the Arsenal you'd expect to see... and it's quite obvious why they never resort to 'Plan B' any more... because it's fooking awful to watch a bunch of tippy-tappy fairy-footballers chase long balls up the field. Painful stuff, it really is. Would make most people cringe... makes me chuckle, though. They just don't have what it takes to play long-ball, even in emergencies. Teams like Bolton and Sheffield Utd have sussed Arsenal - especially Bolton. They stop Arsenal by dominating them physically. Bolton essentially strip the Arsenal team naked and use it as their bitch for 90 minutes. Works wonders when you look at the records past 2 or 3 seasons. Sheffield Utd did the same earlier this season to some extent - they also had the benefits of shit weather and a dodgy pitch. Arsenal players can't cope with a shit surface and poor weather - that's obvious. Just be thankful they didn't try long-ball that game, it'd have made you reach for the bucket.
