Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 The fields are green the skies are blue, the river Nene goes winding through, The market square is cobblestoned, it shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, a finer town there'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be. COME ON YOU COBBLERS! Never seen Citeh win at the Shitteh Ground, hopefully I'll see the mighty NTFC snatch all three points on Saturdeh.

Floating Fox Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Any idea's of how many cobblers are going?
Kilworthfox Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I'm going to wear my Leicester shirt. You must sing Leicester, Leicester, LEICESTER! Leicester till I die & If I had the wings of an Eagle
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 February 2007 Author Posted 9 February 2007 Any idea's of how many cobblers are going? No idea. They've got 4,500 tickets but their away support isn't great generally. Having said that they took something like 3,500 to Oxford away last season. Forest may well get a similar number, seeing as it's Calderwood and the biggest ground they'll get to play at this season. Unlike next season when they can come to the Walkers.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 February 2007 Author Posted 9 February 2007 Looks like it will be close to 3,000.
Floating Fox Posted 10 February 2007 Posted 10 February 2007 Looks like it will be close to 3,000. Should be good then
Daggers Posted 10 February 2007 Posted 10 February 2007 I'm there with the extended family - Family Stand, City flags
Tevez Posted 10 February 2007 Posted 10 February 2007 Went today, thought forest were pretty poor as were northampton.. northampton had their chances i thought taylor ex derby was pretty solid.. deuchar had a soso game and as for the keeper my days he did keep northampton in it. forest got a scrappy goal from a free kick but when there supporters brags on about the way they play if they come up, they will get hammered, even in the championship they was poor.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 February 2007 Author Posted 10 February 2007 Decent game today I thought. Northampton gave it a real good go considering they only signed one of the centre-halves who played the full 90 minutes on Thursday. Might even have been yesterday. He was excellent (kid called Pearce on loan from Reading). And they only signed the other centre-back on deadline day. Both were excellent. They also had a kid from Man City who was only signed on deadline day I think, on loan, who was also good. And Deuchar up front was yet another deadline day loan purchase. All four of them did well considering lack of match fitness and no time to really gel together. Forest are extremely dangerous from set pieces and it was no surprise that that's where the goal came from. The Northampton support was pretty good and I enjoyed it. Was still wishing I was at Portman Road knowing we were bloody winning there for once!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 February 2007 Author Posted 11 February 2007 Were any of you in the away end? Yeah.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Yeah. Nice one. Anyone mistake you for Posh??
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 February 2007 Author Posted 11 February 2007 Nice one. Anyone mistake you for Posh?? Nah. Would have been mistaken for Leicester if anything, what with me wearing the shirt and all. Shame it was too f**king freezing not to wear about ten layers over the top of it. I'm from Northampton anyway, only been to Peterborough about ten times in my life.
Craig Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Found a ticket in the bogs in t' club last night, for the home end. Wankers. I burnt it.

What makes Peterborough characteristically filthy? I have a cousin who supported NTFC back in the day (probably like, 60's)

I have a cousin who supported NTFC back in the day (probably like, 60's) NTFC v Posh is a bit of a rivalry for the sake of it in my opinion. Peterborough is bloody miles away. If Northampton were any good their natural rivals would be Leicester, like in the rugby. If MK Dons get promoted there might be a rivalry with them.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 If MK Dons get promoted there might be a rivalry with them. Or what about if Luton went down?? Sorry I don't actually support NTFC so I don't know why I'm butting in.

It's pretty good IMO that two local teams can get along tho. Have we ever played them?
