davieG Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 England Rugby England Cricket Leicester City Leicester Tigers - Oh no they didn't Leicester Riders YES, Even the Basketball team managed a win against the League leaders The biggest crowd of the season at the John Sandford Centre were rewarded with a win as DMU Leicester Riders shocked league leaders Poujoulat Heat Guildford 93-84. The victory moves the Riders back into a play off position, but has dealt a blow to Heat who are now just one game clear of second placed Sheffield Sharks. After an even first half that Leicester shaded 40-38 it seemed like the Heat had taken control. A run of 10-2 put the visitors 63-56 in front on their way to a 69-65 final break advantage. However, Riders' guard Terrance McGee (pictured) had other ideas as he hit five three-pointers from six attempts. His first broke a 71-71 tie and his fifth opened up a 92-84 lead with just over a minute remaining to make the game safe. McGee led all scorers with 32 while Brian Dux had 22 for Heat including 14 in the third quarter.

The 4th quarter was frantic and McGee was bloody awesome. He just kept making three pointers and I'm amazed he didn't get more than 32. Great night's entertainment!
