Geo V Posted 14 February 2007 Posted 14 February 2007 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 yeah.... i'll go away now. mate that is funny and no doubt some pleb will bid. A mate of mine up in Scotland found (dont ask me how a 30yo did) a set of false teeth and decided to put them on ebay. He drew on his hand some eyes and wedged the false teeth within the hand and took a pic. He then did some Jimmy Tarbuck style of dated one liners on the description like "one previous owner" and "am clean, used to sit in a glass of water every night" or words to that effect and he got £30 for them FFS!!! I`ll try and find the link. Ebay is full of loonies!

Rincewind Posted 14 February 2007 Posted 14 February 2007 Just had an email from 'Ebay' telling me that the credit card I use has been lost or stolin. It could be a spoof as I have not reported anything to them. Managed to log on via this thread. First time which is surprising as I wasn't sure of my login details. Anyway if anyone gets a simiar email send it to [email protected] and don't open the links. I have not used Ebay for a while and have alerts as to any item I am watching or bidding on and I have not been alerted to any bids.
The People's Hero Posted 14 February 2007 Posted 14 February 2007 Well that's ridiculous. Fancy someone emailing YOU to tell you your credit card has been lost!

If I understand it well, if you do sell that box and make a profit, you might need to register as self-employed! EBay Traders and Online Traders – Do You Need to Register as Self Employed? - News 174 Tens of thousands of people are making money out of eBay every day, yet a large number are unaware that they may be required to pay tax and register as self-employed. A new internet-based guide, accessible via the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) website for people who trade online is being launched. It outlines the rules for people who trade online for a profit, as opposed to others who are just clearing low value items from the attic. Online traders are considered to be self-employed if they: * Sell goods they bought with the intention of re-selling them; * Make items themselves and sell them, intending to make a profit; ... source: http://www.bizhelp24.co.uk/a/business-law/...--news-174.html Of course, you could always claim you are selling it to get rid of it !!!!
