and now they tell me that my disc pads will need doing soon as they are gunna go soon and thats another £145....no more going out for me

My warrenty runs out on mine at the end of the month so think i'm gonna get an extened warrenty, 300 odd quid though, but in the long run i'm sure it'll be worth it

Count yourself lucky: my last car repair bill (MOT-related) was £612

after an estimate of £200-250!

M.O.T's should be done every 2 years imo on cars under a certain age, what with the ever increasing reliabilty and saftey cars now have why not ?

They are not. I get mine for £33 each (new)

At least you were allowed to change just 3. In Italy you are obliged to change all four of them!!!

Why are tyres so expensive.?

Because they are woven by hand from a waxy secretion produced by the Goodyear Frog. With its habitat currently being cut down to make way for the Amazonian by-pass it means less frogs...and less frogs equals less tyres.

All in all, it's a very sad situation.
