Mark_ReadingFC Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 Cheers for putting the link to my website Looking forward to the clash Saturday,we're expecting a crowd of around 16,000 which is pretty good bearing in mind it's the Cup and certainly for us it's Number 2 in terms of our wish list. Getting to the ground is pretty easy, either come off at Junction 11 of the M4 or get to Oxford then take the A4074 to Reading and although you got to come from the North of the town center it does save a huge amount of time on the journey itself. Parking can be a problem, you can park at the official stadium car park priced £4 or alternatively go into the Reading Speedway/Greyhound Stadium next door.Another alternative is to get off at Junction 11,M4 and drive to Foster Wheeler for a Park and Ride job. Drinking is a problem down the MadStad, either cover up your colours and attempt to drink in the Jazz Cafe or Stadium Hotel which is overpriced or just take the bus journey into the Town Center.Buses run every 7-8 minutes. In terms of team news for the Royals,Steve Sidwell serves the 2nd of a 2 game suspension for 10 yellow cards.Dave Kitson misses through knee ligament injury and Shaun Goater is away on International duty, though he wouldn't have started or played because should he make another appearance,Man City are due £50,000.Martin Keown is a target for Coppell but wouldn't play anyway as he's cup-tied.Sir Les has had a week's training under his belt and is fit I believe for the match.
Scow Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 Thanks for the info. I'm glad that Sidwell is unavailable - I think he's one of the best midfielders in this division, he showed that against us earlier this season.
Mark_ReadingFC Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 Certainly is.Aston Villa,Birmingham,Charlton,Rangers,Celtic all checked him and I wouldn't bet on him being in the Premiership next season, with or without Reading.
Anish Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 So does that mean Shuan Goater will never play another game for Reading simply because you don't want to fork out the extra £50k? I thought Madejski was loaded!

Mark_ReadingFC Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 It makes perfect sense.Rangers were in a similar position to Everton over Michael Ball. Madejski is loaded but his money and Reading FC's money are 2 different issues.
spirefox Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 From what the goat has not done this season it looks like a good decision.
