AoWW Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 errm, henin just lost the second set in her semi Erm, yeah... sorry 'bout that... I assumed from FilboFox's earlier list that the match had finished and Henin was still in. Look's like you've fallen at the last hurdle, mate. I'll get my, erm... facts right next time.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 It didn't come off. Too bad. Too too bad. The best you can hope for now is for the bird that beat you to win it.
Milky Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Bartoli played out of her skin, it was an unbelivable performance. I'm actually quite pleased she won, it was truely a dream showing.

lildave3 Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Cracking matches today, Bartoli and Gasquet both played brilliant!

lookwhaticando Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Is it too late to enter the sweepstake? I notice there's a name going spare in the women's final.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Is it too late to enter the sweepstake? I notice there's a name going spare in the women's final. And there is a name going spare in the mens semis although that would be pointless entering because Roger has got it in the bag.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Actually... I'm a moderator... I don't need permission to enter... I could retroactively enter myself. Now you'll all be watching the list to make sure I didn't change it.

Now you'll all be watching the list to make sure I didn't change it. No.... you can't. Anyways... it would be pointless... Venus is going to wipe the floor with her!
AoWW Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 And there is a name going spare in the mens semis although that would be pointless entering because Roger has got it in the bag. Oh, you think so, do you? Hmmm, a challenge if ever I heard one! Nadal will run rings round the old bloke, fact.
Milky Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 Nadal v Federer final... no great surprise there then. Nadal may not have won that semi though if his opponent hadn't retired.
AoWW Posted 8 July 2007 Posted 8 July 2007 Congrats to Ultra and dandannieldanok  Mind you, Nadal was robbed imo! <_<
lildave3 Posted 8 July 2007 Posted 8 July 2007 Congrats to Ultra and dandannieldanok  Mind you, Nadal was robbed imo! <_< Brilliant final, brilliant tournament from what I saw. I don't think Federer will make it 6 in a row though, Nadal proved today how much he's improved in the last 12 months and other players like Djokovic, Gasquet and maybe Murray aswell as Roddick will all challenge him.

FilboFox Posted 9 July 2007 Author Posted 9 July 2007 In my honest opinion though, had Nadal not hurt his knee in the 4th set, he could well have gone on and won... by the end he was running a lot less after shots that he would normally have reached! Shame really as I REALLY dislike the arrogant Federer beyond belief! All the monograms and gold and self-promoting... its pathetic!
Raj Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 You can't call someone who has been as prolific and successful as Federer, arrogant. The aura that all top class sportspeople emit may seem like arrogance but its just self confidence and an inner belief. Federer will go down as ONE of the greatest tennis players EVER...THAT is something to be arrogant about!!! They have the extra 10% or so which differentiates themselves from players such as ...for example Tim Henman or the Greg Rusedski's of the world! There is always someone around the corner to take the crown and it may well be Nadal, after his showing in the Final, then people will be slagging him off for being arrogant!!!!

So you really promote the idea that the bighead should go around sticking monograms of his initials and gold buttons for the amount of times he has won in a row all over whatever he has... its just pathetic. As if we need to be reminded of the thousands of times that Federer has won! He is arrogant and if he is self confident and has inner belief then fine but you don't need to start flaunting it around as that is simply just arrogance as he thinks he can just wander in and out of Wimbledon winning it without any problem... I will TREASURE the day Federer loses at Wimbledon as it will maybe bring the big head back down to earth and he will remove those stupid logo's from all over him!

dandannieldanok Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Ah it was Federer's final all along, it was never in doubt
