Did anyone else read yesterdays Leicester Mercury??

In the article on the back page, it said "Mandaric, who has pledged to improve the clubs infrastructure, was dismayed to learn there was no formal scouting department".

Anyone else find this a bit disturbing? Surely every decent club should have a formal scouting department. Obviously we employ scouts, but im guessing we just send them out as we need to. A club like us should have permenant scouts monitoring areas/divisions etc.. It could also mean we havent been scouting teams well enough prior to playing them, which we also really should be doing.

Doesnt sound great, thank god Milan is going to resolve it!

The scouting network was one of the major cutbacks after administration and was never restored, the scouting / watching was done by Lil Fuccillo Milan has contacts all over the world so this will change now

just put his name in Google and the wikipedia entry is this!!!

Pasquale Fuccillo , known commonly as Lil Fuccillo (born May 2, 1956 in Bedford) is a former football midfielder and is currently a scout for Leicester City. He was born in England to Italian parents. He is also an Italian rapper and is working on an album with numerous American artists such as Bow wow, Snoop Dogg, Diddy,Kevin Federline, and Liza Minelli. It is expected to debut on May 30, 2009 entitled "Purple Nurples Give Me Ouchies" with the hit single "I Wanna Dump In Yo Bathtub."

Comedy Gold!!! lol

S'old hat.

This came up during the takeover and he said it would be addressed at the time.

It can't come as a surprise to anyone that we had no infrastructure...how else can you explain Josh Low for ****s sake?! And to think one of Kelly's key rolls for Levein was that of 'expert on the English game' lol

Buddies with Hammond then! lol this is a club with crazy characters, a mini Napolean, two aspiring gangsta rappers, a manager of unknown quantity but infinite quality.

The list doesn't end but I don't have the time to analyse everyone.

We had no funds to buy players anyway so what would be the point in funding a complex scouting network? Kelly and Stowell used to watch a lot of games themselves so opposition teams will have been watched. I'm sure we've still had scouts that go around the local youth football scene trying to find potential which makes sense as these players cost nothing and could eventually be worth millions.

Knowledge of the English game was the bread & butter of Kelly's position, you could say.

I'll get me coat.

Shame he didn't use it to soup up our team. But he's in the past now, let's baguette about him.

You, Jimbo and Dave remind me of an old Big Train sketch. It was in the style of an NSPCC plea advert and went along the lines of 'every day, children in dusty, dark rooms and forced to make puns for local radio DJs.' Because really, where do they all come from? :P

We've got a really, really important business man coming in today so I'm going to have to ask you all - seriously - no wanking in the office.

Because they prefer the weeds of the plain, the jockeys spend long periods in the open, risking attack from hunters like the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

At least this is funny.

My bad. I didn't read too much into is just scanned it to see if there were any sensible, worthwhile points being made. But there weren't. Much like there isn't in this post.

Bloody hell - you pop out for a bit and the thread comes apart at the sleeves

... and it was all your fault. lol

Who'd have thought one typing mistake could derail a topic so sensationally? :P
