Wycombe Fox Posted 2 June 2007 Author Posted 2 June 2007 I guess the bees are the best Won the league for the last three or four years!
Wycombe Fox Posted 2 June 2007 Author Posted 2 June 2007 Come on Isle of the Wight Fox!! Get your team into gear. OK mate! We had a pants day! First game we took the lead then went 2-1 down and equalised with a minute go. It looked like it was going to sudden death penalties then up popped the England captain to score with about 20 seconds left. Second game we were up against a team with four England internationals and a Brazillian with all the tricks that come from South America. My team are depleted through injuries, holidays and Uni exams but by the time the next round of games come along on 23rd June we should be back to full strength. Might just nick a win tomorrow but I must admit I'm not too hopeful
Tevez Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 Keep going my son, all the best in the tournament, wish your team luck from Mr. Tevez himself

Wycombe Fox Posted 3 June 2007 Author Posted 3 June 2007 Saturday morning saw the first games for Group A. Wight Stripes got off to a flying start with a 4-1 win over the Small Hope Sharks with Mark Joyce scoring 2 for the Stripes. In Game 2 Bardon Vectis beat Simeon, with Matt Evans getting a hat-trick for Bardon, and a 6-5 win. A shaky looking Sandown Sociedad narrowly beat Wight Knuckle Ryde 3-2, in Game 3, and the Bees hammered Simeon Santos 8-1 in Game 4, with Adam Sunsburg and Toby Donbavand both scoring hat-tricks for the Bees. Later in the day Small Hope Sharks and Wight Knuckle Ryde battled it out in Game 5, with Small Hope eventually coming out on top with an 8-5 win, and a hat-trick from Tom Doble for the Sharks, and Olly Buckett for WKR. The final game of the day was game 6, which saw Simeon play their former youth team Simeon Santos. Santos surprised many by coming out on top as eventual 9-3 winners, with Corbin Ricketts putting 5 goals in the back of the net. Lewis Mitchell added a hat -trick, and newly signed Andy Gough scored his first goal for Santos. Sunday was another scorcher, with Wight Stripes and Sandown Sociedad kicking off the day. Sociedad led 2-1 after the second period, but the Stripes managed to turn it around, and went on to win 4-2, with Darren Powell scoring twice. Bardon Vectis met a weakened Bees team in Game 8 of the Group A games with Bardon going on to win 6-1, and to hand the normally unbeatable Bees their heaviest ever defeat. The final 4 games of the afternoon saw the Group A teams fighting for their first week standings in the league. The first game was for 7th and 8th position, and saw Wight Knuckle Ryde and Simeon go head to head, with Simeon coming out on top, with a 10-2 win, Scott Hamilton scoring 4 for Simeon. The game for 4th and 6th place was between Small Hope Sharks and Simeon Santos. Small Hope proved to be to strong a side for Santos, with Mitch Day scoring 4 and Tom Doble adding a hat-trick, Santos took 6th position in a 7-4 defeat. 3rd and 5th positions were play-off between rivals Sociedad and the Bees, with a goal deficit on the first periods; both teams looked to be evenly matched. But 3 goals from the Bees in the last 2 periods saw them beat Sociedad 3-0 and take 3rd position. The final game of the day was for 1st and 2nd place, and looked to be a tough match form the first whistle. The Wight Stripes faced Bardon Vectis, with Vectis looking for revenge after their Wightlink Cup final defeat last season. The first period ended with a 1 goal lead to Vectis, and led 5-4 going into the third period. In the final minutes of the game they were tied 6-all, but a goal each from Jahae Rayment and Elliot Day, saw the Stripes claim a 8-6 victory and put them in 1st position after week 1. Wycombe Fox Posted 22 June 2007 Author Posted 22 June 2007 Sorry - a bit late with last weekend's results A 'P' next to the score denotes a sudden-death penalty win for which the winner gets only 2 points and not 3 for a victory without penalties. Wycombe Fox Posted 24 June 2007 Author Posted 24 June 2007 WTF?!?!? This weekend has been very depressing for me and my team, Wight Knuckle Ryde. Played 3, lost 3, 30 goals against, 3 goals for! Nothing's going right! Anything that could go right for the opposition does and anything that could go right for us doesn't. The only plus point is that they're a smashing bunch of lads and this week we're going to redouble our efforts on the training beach.
Wycombe Fox Posted 26 June 2007 Author Posted 26 June 2007 Did we play this week? Yep! Your team won both of their games! Will put a report, all results and updated tables on here either later or tomorrow morning.
