FSF Report into Safe Standing - A 21st Century Solution

Leicester Have been sent a copy of this report and I urge you to send peter Jones an email teling him the club look into the report (Which I hope, and believe they will do anyway)

There Is great belief after this report that our campaign is heading in the right direction and we can win this battle.

Feel free to leave your views and discuss!

say we do get to stand...

where will it be, and are the stands to steep for it?

I think that the campaign is mainly focusing on the right to be able to have safe standing areas at this moment!

I'm guessing (based On the German Model) that there would be an end behind the goal that would have standing areas and then a Corner for away fans. Regarding the steepness I don't really know but I can't see why, as Leicester stands aren't that steep.

It would be nice if The Trust could throw it's full weight behind this

I tried to find out their stance on standing at stadia but can not see any reference to it on their website (or anything else really come to that).

Does anyone know what they are currently campaigning for? :dunno:

I don't know what their current situation is, in fact I've heard nothing from them for a while, they're certainly keeping their heads below the parapet.

As for the standing issue I believe if my memory serves me correctly that they are fully behind it.

I don't want to divert the thread - but I can't find their position on anything other than fund-raising and player sponsorship on the site. It's something that I suggested many times needs addressing but maybe you could give them a prod Davie, seeing as you have their ear?

They need to highlight issues they are campaigning on, detail them clearly on the website and produce regular updates.

Unless, that is, they are building a statue with the Mandaric money and folding as an entity.

This is my last Trust-related post in this thread

Dave,

I would be grateful if you would bear with me on this as I am not at work tomorrow and I am trying to tidy up as best I can.

I attended the ‘Safe Standing’ debate in London on 14th March representing LCFC. There were other club’s in attendance along with MP’s and other interested parties.

We continue to play a full and meaningful part as the debate continues.

I will try and find time read the report and get back to you.

Regards

Peter

I knew We were represented at Parliment, didn't know it was PJ though!

Sounds like he's busy.

Just sent an e-mail

Great work Andy, this would be a real step forward not just for LCFC but football as a whole in my opinion

To be clear, the Trust Board has always followed a policy of being

"pro choice" rather than "pro standing" (which is

actually what SUSD campaigns for, but most believe it's just standing),

therefore supports the introduction of a dedicated area of standing in an

area of the ground, which doesn't disrupt those who prefer to sit down.

Everything seems to be moving in the right direction now.

StandUpSitDown got quite abit of coverage on SkySportsNews last week which is no doubt another positive. Hopefully when Pete Jones reads the report he will get back to us via himself or the FoxesTrust.

He said he'd got a copy and would continue with the club to do something.

Here it is:

I am aware of the FSF report on safe standing.

I represented the club at the debate at Westminster on 14th March 2007

and continue to follow the discussions with interest.

The club will continue to listen to all views on the subject and assist

in a positive way when we are requested.
