lildave3 Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 The main reason referees get more abuse these days is because of the amount of cameras at a game, showing every bad decision.

lcfc_jme Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 I'd love to be a referee. But if some shitty little kid swore at me (I'm not talking 10, I'm talking more my own age, probably about people like myself), I'm not so sure I'd just stand and ask him to shut up. I'd probably use language referees aren't supposed to, which of course could all end in tears and bloodshed. And me being struck off.

the_bowman Posted 3 June 2007 Author Posted 3 June 2007 Hey everyone thanks for the great response I didn't get a chance to read it all until now because of my computer playing up (again!) Anyway, I've emailed the county FA to see if there's anything available, but they haven't replied to me yet. And, to be honest, it's something that interests me, I really admire the refs that can keep their cool even with eleven men disagreeing, abusing and mouthing off at them. I'm the sort of person that can just as easily take the back seat as stand up and tell people where to shove it. So, I hope that I could make a good referee, I'm reading Pierluigi Collina's autobiography at the moment, and I admit that I find the world of refereeing very fascinating. Anyway, any help, tip's, advice or knowledge of any courses in the area would be great. Thanks.
