dandannieldanok Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 This lad really is special. Wouldn't stretch that far personally, stick him in a Spyker and I doubt very much he would do an awful lot better than they are currently doing. Fair play to him though, I will be delighted if he wins tomorrow and the championship.

Yes he drives a good car, but he has skill. I dont think Anthony Davidson would be able to do what Lewis has done.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 I dont think Anthony Davidson would be able to do what Lewis has done. I'd like to see him try, to be honest he has suceeded my expectations as much as Lewis has.
Brainy Posted 16 June 2007 Author Posted 16 June 2007 Do you think the car may have helped though? Try sticking him in last year's Super Aguri Davidson hasnt had the best of starts but we weren't expecting anything special from him anyway.
lildave3 Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 When people say 'it's only because he has the best car' it frustrates me. The only reason he is in the best car is because he is a special talent.
Floating Fox Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 Some people are really pissing me off with this, I've watched F1 all my life, got up in the early hours to watch races Down under etc and about 2 years ago everyone came out with "F1 is dead, its crap & boring" but now everyone seems to be really intrested just because Hamilton is doing well. The fact of the matter is that he is doing this well because of the car he is in. Hes doing a damn good job in the car as well, but so you would expect, the guy has been bascially formed by Mclaren & ron Dennis to become the Ultimate F1 Driver.

potter3 Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 And to think I was a bit put out to have him in the sweepstake
AoWW Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 The kid's doing well and judging from his pole he seems to be coping well enough with Indy's banking. I'd sure like to see him beat Alonso again.
Gené and Tonic Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 He isn't God, as James Allen thinks he is. He is good though, no denying that. I do believe he will become at least a double world champion, although I don't think he'll win it this year. I think I'd be really rooting for him if ITV didn't make me cringe with their coverage of him. There are many who actively root for the other drivers just so James Allen and other journalists and magazine writers don't cream themselves over him. That's how bad it has got. Even so, I think I'll be sticking on 5 live tomorow and muting the tv so I can enjoy it properly, and I hope Hamilton wins. At least I won't have to listen to Allen make a mockery of himself...I'll miss Brundle though.

ITV adore him, and it makes me cringe as well, almost make you not want him to win some times Cnts.
lildave3 Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 Anyone else got a feeling Hamilton will go into the wall at turn 13?
Gené and Tonic Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 If he did Allen would hold his own personal minutes silence and would probably invite the viewers to do the same.
Brainy Posted 17 June 2007 Author Posted 17 June 2007 Heidfeld to come 2nd, Raikkonen to find form and finish 3rd, Alonso will cut the first corner again and come back 6th with Webber and Massa ahead of him.
city1993 Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Go on Lewis, I think in 2 years time he will be the best on the track, and in a decade he will be the best formula 1 driver of all time !! watch this space !!
mark1983 Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Lewis has won the american grand prix meaning his second victory of the season plus he is the first british winner of a formula 1 race in the usa for 20 odd years. well done lewis
samingram_uk Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 the man has done it again, he had pressure and delt with it perfectly, i think its something like 24 years since a british driver won in America. amazing!
Floating Fox Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Oh But Isn't F1 Crap? It was a boring race IMO, Hamilton didnt do anything special, just kept his cool and drove a good car, well, for 90 Minutes. Still well done to him.
Gené and Tonic Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 I'm not watching the press conference (going to simulate the race again on rfactor ) but i guess there will be some choice words from Alonso.
Gené and Tonic Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 There was talk about banning winglets, so the cars can actually run behind each other instead of clearly being faster, but getting to a certain point behind the other car and not being able to do a thing (prime examples today were Alonso vs Lewis, Massa vs Kimi and Wurz vs Liuzzi) The sooner the better in my opinion, either that or copy what they do in Champcar and have what is effectively a 'go faster' button that gives you more horsepower for a certain amount of time so you can get past another car.
Brainy Posted 17 June 2007 Author Posted 17 June 2007 Not the greatest race, some good fights throughout the field. The best thing was the man helping Rosberg out the car. They ran away and the mans cap fell off, and he had to go back and get it.
