Wycombe Fox Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Allen shut the fck up you absolute bellend. I'm going to watch the replay tonight because I'm sure, with about 3 laps to go, he said that it would be interesting to see Alonso's erection in the press conference but then corrected himself to reaction.
Deathside Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 he is the first british winner of a formula 1 race in the usa for 20 odd years. I don't get it surely it has to be 20 even years? You can have 21 odd years if you like?
Asha Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Oh But Isn't F1 Crap? It was a boring race IMO, Hamilton didnt do anything special, just kept his cool and drove a good car, well, for 90 Minutes. Still well done to him. Used to love it but it gone completely bollocks now. They might as well just follow each other along single file that's what appears to be. What happened to the good old days of the early 00s, when Schumacher and Montoya had wheel to wheel conflict. And another point anyone on here ever been to an F1 race, went to the British GP in 2002 it was mint like and ferrari one-two but entertaining Coulthard slid off in front of me and everything not worth going now though, its just got too commercial.

Alexikokopops Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Nowadays It's about money, not action You didn't answer the question. It was just as much about money then as it is now.

Brainy Posted 17 June 2007 Author Posted 17 June 2007 Did no-one watch the Montreal race? It CAN be good. Most people will probably have enjoyed it due to the amount of crashes in that race, one inparticular. Drivers put their life on the line in F1, I hope 'fans' don't see drivers crashing into concrete walls at 200mph as entertainment. Something that stood out to me today was Fisichella & Button's scramble in sector two for 16th place. Fisi overtakes, Jenson wins back his place, Fisi overtakes again and Button takes back his position.

Tomassi Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 It doesnt matter what Lewis can do, he just wont please everyone, people saying he is only doing well because he is in a good car. WAKE UP PEOPLE he is 10 frigging points ahead of the CURRENT DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION. Yes you need a good car, but isnt Lewis proving that if you are an Extraordinary driver, you can make exceptional drivers (alonso in this case) look ordinary! I for one, as a British Citizen, am so proud that Lewis is opening a can of whup-ass on the Formula One circuit and has, i believe, re-juvenated Formula 1 once again. I also find it funny how the people who are borderline slagging him off, have the same pessimistic approach about Leicesters first few signings under Martin Allen's regime. If you can do better, do it yourself, and if you cant, shut up and watch the people who can do it!

Still well done to him. So you didn't notice that silver McLaren breathing down his neck for more than half of that race? Did you not notice how Alonso pushed so hard he eventually made mistakes, whereas the young Lewis still kept driving immaculately and didn't give Alonso a chance? THAT is special. In fact, can you point out a single mistake Lewis has made this season? Not even Schumi in his prime was this perfect... edit: well that might be pushing it, but this is certainly the most spectacular entry anyone has made into F1
Stevosevic Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Can people stop saying hes winning because of the car, the best drivers get the best cars.
isaidno Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 It made me laugh when the flag marshal dropped his blue flag onto the track !
Gené and Tonic Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 If you can do better, do it yourself, and if you cant, shut up and watch the people who can do it! I could, but the kart schools too far away and starts proper early on saturdays Although I did set the lap record at the Silverstone kart track...might go to some dinner and tell Ron Dennis I'm going to drive for him one day

So if Lewis wins nearly every race like Schui did a few years ago it won't be crap & boring? I've not seen Lewis pull of any good overtaking movements like JPM (Montoya) did a few years back, that was entertainment. He's doing well, but he has no pressure on him, it's all on Alonso & thats why he's winning IMO. So you didn't notice that silver McLaren breathing down his neck for more than half of that race? Ron Dennis has been teaching him since he was 9, he is the ultimate F1 driver. Yes he is special but the point is, he wouldn't be doing it in any other car than the Mclaren. He's grabbed his chance very well & rightly doing the best. Alonso wasn't breathing down him that long. I'de say Lewis had to push hard for about 10 laps when he needed to get through that traffic & alonso was right behind him Can people stop saying hes winning because of the car, the best drivers get the best cars. Some people The best drivers quite clearly don't get the best cars you complete pillock.
lildave3 Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Why do people moan that we as a country are shit at sports, then when someone good comes along they moan about them
Floating Fox Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Why do people moan that we as a country are shit at sports, then when someone good comes along they moan about them  I'm not for one minute critising Hamilton, he's a genius, I'm criticising the pricks that think he's god just because ITV Bum him because he gives them weekly interviews & every other word that comes out of James Allen's mouth is Hamilton!

Theres been quite a few funny moments in North America over the last two weeks. That, syncronised swimming from Trulli and Rosberg, Davidson in the pit waiting to re-fuel when no mechanics were ready, Davidson running over the beaver(?), the marshall and his cap, and the commentator saying "It'll be interesting to see Alonso's erection" which IOWF heard.. Is it me or is Alonso starting to show his frustration on the track now? Went of a few times yesterday, not as much as Canada.
