Stearman impressed me yesterday & is getting better all the time , But i'm not sure about him playing there permenantly this season ... But if we keep bringing him on & playing a few games this season , and get him built up for next season , I would play him regularly next season
Wellman Posted 13 February 2005 Posted 13 February 2005 I didn't do anything wrong yesterday. Was solid and made some good passes and looked good on the ball. I've only seen him twice and he's impressed me both times. Wether to play him there on a regular basis? I'm not to sure just yet
Little Nicky Posted 13 February 2005 Posted 13 February 2005 He looks like a very viable replacement for Maybury to me! I don't think he should play over Maybury though, but certainly over Makin, that guy really doesn't know how to play the game sometimes!

Anish Posted 13 February 2005 Posted 13 February 2005 We may as well start playing Stearman at centre back now - we ain't gonna make the playoffs and we ain't going down. So if we play Stearman at C.B for the remainder of the season he should be more than prepared for next season's promotion push. And it will at least enable to see whether Stearman is as good as everyone is raving about. But I wouldn't play him at right back when we have Maybury and Canero (who should be ahead of Makin imo).

Hoof Fox Posted 13 February 2005 Posted 13 February 2005 I certainly wouldnt start Stearman ahead of Maybury at right back, but I do now believe the time is right for Stearman to have an extended run in the first team at centre half alongside either Dabizas or Dublin, with the loss of Elliott and Keown this position is looking the weakest department in the club at the moment, and hopefully Stearman would fill one of the gaps. Would also bring some much needed pace to that position, and his ability on the ball would also be a welcome addition. Personally I would like to see some of the younger players now being given an opportunity even if it is from the bench, instead of some of the deadwood that we are currently using. Makin - Replace with Canero / Stearman Dublin or Dabizas - Replace with Stearman Nalis - Replace with Dawson Scowcroft - Replace with ANYBODY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most if not all the above senior pro's will move on next season, and none are performing anywhere near the required standards expected and therefore some of these youngsters should be given their opportunity. This would also allow CL to assess the ability and readiness of some of these players and also prepare them for next season when they would most likely become regulars in the 16 man squad.
