Justice has finally caught up with Oxfordshire's number one fugitive as the law arrived at his home to reprimand him. The local constabulary had failed to see the funny side of him pinching the news presenter's bottom as she reported on last week's flooding. Rufus Burdett Oxfordshire bottom-pincher Rufus Burdett Officers confirm they have cautioned 37-year-old Mr Burdett over the incident, which took place just a stone's throw from his home on pleasant Osney Island in the city of spires. But they backed down from issuing a threatened £80 fixed penalty notice after the force apparently accepted his explanation that the bottom pinch had been meant as a joke. Thames Valley Police faced criticism from local taxpayers after mounting an investigation into the incident, footage of which has already found its way on to the Internet site YouTube where it has so far been seen by more than 150,000 people. A spokesman warned the culprit that when he was identified he faced a fixed penalty notice for his 'stupid and obnoxious behaviour', which, they said, amounted to a public order offence. But now police have confirmed that Mr Burdett has instead accepted a caution for "an offence under the Public Order Act"
