Pfft. I would love to see what a player has got to do in a match to get above a '7' granted there has been some generous ratings, but there is a reason for that. They played well against a premiership team away from home!

Let's hope we find a new Pele for Lisa's sake.

I'm sorry, am I not allowed an opinion these days?

Now we've got that sorted, who wants to do my ratings for me on Wednesday? Obviously I can't choose who does this, so if someone would like to volunteer to choose my ratings picker.............. :P

Lisa's ratings are probably closer to the mark than most but they are all in a narrow band of 0.5 of a point. I noticed some wider differences in performance than that. But it is entirely subjective at the end of the day.

It must be remembered though that this is a one off cup tie and players are either 'up for t'cup' or not. Players either psyche themselves up for it or they bottle it. In a straight win or lose situation management rarely has anything to do it with it - unless the manager in question has rare powers (and Levein certainly hasn't got these - he wouldn't be with us if he had).

It's worth noting that not a single lower league team went out to Premiership opposition in the fifth round. Does that make all their managers 'great motivators?'

If it does then what does that make Sourpuss Souness?

A Sourpuss ;) , good description, sums him up without being 'too rude' or offensive

I'll borrow that next time I mention him if you don't mind Chandler

That makes two people who have been nice to me today. Ordinarily I would think that I must be saying something wrong.

Must be 'Cup Fever.' Once a very common disease (particulalry round these parts) now virtually eradicated in the Western world thanks to the Champions League vaccine.

I thought that the team performance, as a whole, was good, and didn't think anyone particular stood out as being particularly good or bad.

My scores reflected the fact that I still think we can play better. Fantastic as the result was, I don't want it to cloud my judgement, and if we were to play fantastically well, how can I score the players if a performance like Saturday's is full of 8's and 9's?

Walker - 7 - good save from Hughes and that was about it.

Maybury - 6 - Sloppy for the goal and Thomas gave him a bit of a torrid time.

Dublin - 7 - Used his experience well and scored

Dabizas - 6.5 - Scored and could of had another but was sloppy for their goal.

Stewart - 6.5 - Nothing wrong and nothing spectacular.

Gillespie - 8 - Could of had a couple of goals, squared up to Hermann but helped Maybury out tremendously against Thomas.

Hughes - 7 - Energietic and dynamic.

Gudjohnsson - 8 - One of his best games for us.

Williams - 7 - See Hughes.

Tiatto - 9 - The player we hoped we were getting when MA signed him up.

de Vries - 8.5 - Purely for taking the workload on the chin and running himself int the ground for the cause.

Subs - 6 a piece.

A terrific performance and one form which we should be able to build some serious momentum into next season. It'll be interesting to see who Levein can add before the next round as the prospect of Dickov/Gallacher or Stead against our double "D's" is a bit scarey.

Lisa,

You are beginning to worry me. You're beginning to sound too rational, particularly for a GIRLIE. You're supposed to be unreasonable and come over all emotional like.

Like the rest of the girls on here...
