Mandaric in

I can't bring myself to post an opposing message on the ridiculous "Mandaric Out" thread, so I thought I would start my own. While I thought Martin Allen was a great guy and seemed to be getting things on track (certainly in terms of generating some passion in the team and the fans), my feeling is that Milan is the one who put his money on the line to save our club and only he can make the decisions.

He will live or die by the decisions he makes - we know he appointed some dodgy managers at Portsmouth but ultimately he realised Harry Redknapp was good for the club, swallowed his pride and no doubt coughed up something of a pay rise to tempt him back.

But ultimately, the majority of the £££ going into LCFC are from (or generated by) Mandaric. Let's not kid ourselves, he didn't buy the club because he loves Leicester City, the area or the fans. He had no emotional affinity to us before taking a controlling interest - he bought us to make a profit. The way to do that is to pick the club up cheaply (which he did), speculate a little by investing in players good enough to get promotion (which he has at least started to do) and sell us as a Premiership club to one of many rich investors who currently seem willing to pay over the odds to acquire a football club and gain respectability (not mentioning any Russian, Ukranian, Thai or indeed Serbian names). In other words, the Portsmouth model. He must have made a mint selling them and wants to do it again. It will be of no benefit to him if we stay in the Championship.

What I am trying to say, is we should not assume he's just done this for a power trip or because Allen was becoming popular. I believe that if Milan believed that Allen was the best man to take us up, he would still be here. Mandaric has been in football a long time (and much deeper inside it than any of us) so I think, on balance, I will put my faith in Milan's decision on this one. After all, we managed a tepid loss to Blackpool, threw away a game at Palace and were losing to Forest at half-time after a poor display. We've also seen Fryatt and DJ Campbell played on the wing, among other odd tactical decisions and strange substitutions.

We will certainly wonder what might have been if we are not successful under our new manager, but Mandaric can claim he made the right decision if we do go up.

Its a fair posts in many respects as Mandaric should know what he is doing but I think he may have made a huge mistake this time with MA. I'm not suggesting he cant get another good manager in but he has hired someone who has what it takes to get a club like ours moving again and the early signs were looking good. As much as I am trying to be objective, I am fluttering from one extreme to another at the moment in what I think as my head is so messed up. Having gone from a jumping stadium and a hammering of the leaders, in 3 or 4 days we have managed to hear that a player nearly died and now almost a feeling of bereavement with the sacking of our manager.

As I said elsewhere, I will back MM if he manages to make a great appointment and we go up the league. However, if he gets someone rank in like a Megson or Roeder, it will prove to me that he has lost a bit of focus. Time will tell how bad MA is as a manager when he goes elsewhere but for now, Milan has a lot to prove because I dont want another crazy owner here like Hearts have up in Scotland, doing a mental one every other week.

Too late for that.

People should have thought about that six months ago.

Mandaric's treatment of managers (more often that not his own appointments) is a standing joke throughout the game, especially after yesterday's news.

Can we really trust him to get it right next time?

i agree with what is said and i side with "mandaric in" again martin allen was a nice bloke and always kept the fans in the loop with his little statements on the offical website but to be fair look at the signings bar clemence and campbell the quality of leicester team has not changed since Rob Kelly was in charge and the amount of really good players have passed us by ie beattie, eastwood, etc and we are stuck with the crap on free bees again

That hasn't happened at all. Their owner up at Hearts buys players from his homeland, hires managers for fun, sells all their best players, hires and fires managers (although both of them have done that with Graham Rix lol) and is a complete loon. Milan has made a strange decision but its way too early to class him as a complete nutter. At the moment I`ll have him as someone who needs a routine examination but he is at yet to be diagnosed with problems. :|

DJ and Clemence are hardly freebies!

I doubt whether the likes of Beattie and Eastwood are lying awake at night regretting the fact they're not part of the Mandaric revolution.

And Mandaric doesn't? :huh::huh::huh:

MM may have some madman tendencies and does go through more managers than would be ideal but he has proven that he allowed MA to bring his own players in and didn't just sign his own players from his homeland for the sake of it. He also didn't sanction the sale of our better players and has given the manager sufficient funds to improve the squad significantly.

The thing that is concerning me is this really did seem like it would be the squad, with a few adjustments to take us back to the promised land and the chopping and changing would finnally stop. However if we bring in ANOTHER new manager then this will not be the squad he wants, therefore more changes and we are starting all over again having to change the whole team they will have to build chemistry and whoever is in charge will probably end up making excuses about everything unlike MA. But i suppose that I will have to trust MM on this one because without him we would possibly do a Leeds!

As long as we get to the Premiership I dont mind!

There's no way anyone should be saying Mandaric Out. He's pumped money into the club and given us a bit of hope. But why SHOULD I be '100% behind' him? He's a business man, at the end of the day. Should we have been "100% behind" the old board? No.

I'm 50-60% behind Milan, tops. I don't just the bloke, his managerial hiring record is poor, and if he wasn't rich everyone'd hate him. On the other hand, he's likeable, charismatic, and has our interests at heart. Probably. But he's not immune from criticism. Attempting to force duffers on MA and then sacking him before he's even seen September in is a shocking decision.

Just because he bought in and "saved" the club, does not mean I have to trust everything Mandaric does.

Ken Bates bought in and "saved" Leeds United. Sure all their fans trust everything he's done.

And yeah, I'm aware that's an extreme example. But I stand by the point.

That's not necessarily true, we all know there is room for more players, which the new man may or may not have an infuence on, but a lot of managers will take a look at our squad and, particularly, the way we played against watford, and say: yeah i can work with this til january.

It was the players who won on saturday, either because or despite of Allen's influence - any half decent manager could get similar results from the current squad...

the crunch will come with MM's choice, if the players don;t want to play for him, then it will be another long season, if he comes in and they players are psyched and can have fun playing then there's no reason why this squad can't push for promotion.

tough call MM, got a feeling rodgers could be the man, anything conected with chelsea will boost players confidence.
