RAMS TAKE ACTION AGAINST MIRROR

Derby County has issued a solicitor's letter in advance of legal action against the Mirror Group of Newspapers - and imposed a ban on Mirror journalists attending club media conferences and home matches.

The action relates to a factually inaccurate story that appeared in Saturday's sports pages of the Daily Mirror - headlined "Rams to axe boss Davies in coup" - one in a series of recent articles on the Rams run by the tabloid newspaper.

The ban is imposed with immediate effect pending the Mirror Group's response to the letter, which requests the newspaper's urgent proposals for publishing a retraction of the story, publishing an apology to the club and undertaking not to repeat the original article's defamatory allegations.

Perhaps The Mirror will pay the compensation for Davies to come to us. Job done. Derby get out of having to pay Davies a shit load in compo, and we get out of having to pay Derby a few hundred grand for pinching the sweaty off Derby.

Not at all. Perhaps he was going to be axed before they got wind of MM's possible interest. So now they keep him, sue the paper, then get him to leave by mutual consent.

Didn't he go for £6M in the end?? If he did, had Davies have got him, he'd have done ok, wouldn't he??
