Craig Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Send Off For Elliott At Forest Game Alan Birchenall will be making a presentation to retiring captain Matt Elliott on the pitch at half-time on Saturday March 5. Elliott announced his decision to end his playing career due to injury following an eight year spell with the Foxes which has seen the club win two League Cups and promotion to the Premiership. City fans will be able to show their appreciation to Elliott as he walks out onto the Walkers Stadium pitch for the last time during the interval. The Birch will give the stalwart defender a thank you gift from the club to honour his years of loyal service and revealed his plans for the occasion. "We want to give Leicester supporters the chance to express thier thanks to Matty for all the great times he's brought us. "Who can forget that Cup final in 2000. Thinking of him lifting the trophy at Wembley still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and I'm sure many City fans would say the same. "This is our way of recognising his service to our club and this will allow him to bow out on a high, knowing how well regarded he is by all the Walkers Stadium faithful." http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~620893,00.html
Ric Flair Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Let's do Matty proud that day and ALL sing our hearts out for him for the whole game. We could easily make The Walkers a wall of sound if we wanted to and I think Matt atleast deserves a 90 minute chant for his years of service at Leicester. Matty, Matty Elliott. I can't wait, the atmosphere will be electric against the scum.
