DJ Barry Hammond Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Interesting question - I'd say only for cup games. I know people are worried about getting an injured or sent off keeper - well 1.) make sure your keeper knows to keep his discipline by chosing one who makes good decisions and 2.) if he's not 100% fit don't play him. If we were very unlucky, we'd proberly lose a keeper in 3 games a season - that could be 9 points lost - but i can imagine there would be more than 9 points gained by having that extra option on the bench - depending on who it is - if it's Elvis, we may as well have a keeper on there. Only other reason to have a keeper on the bench is to bring him on up-front to take the piss when we're beating derby 5-0!

When did we draw Derby in the cup? We let goals in last minute most games anyway. At least with an outfield player they can go up the other end and nod a header in off a corner to win the game for us

adam Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Always a keeper on the bench(except for champ man) 4 outfield players is more than enough.
