Raj Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I'm im gonna quote Shawshank Redemption for you Raj,Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. Hope is all i have too pal!!! But optimistic hope. Hope in the knowledge things will get better than the shit we've had in the last few years. Hope we have a man who for once is willing to pump money into our club. Hope that he can achieve with us what he did with Portsmouth....its all about HOPE!!!!
Foxhateram Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 ok its time to analyse each signing, give them a rating and decide who whould go in january. Chambers- Has played well, but needs to get his fitness back.- 7 Djeziri- not seen anything of him, but hes young isnt he? one for the future maybe worth keeping. cant judge a score Ferreira- From reserve game reveiws sounds like this ald should be in the first team. 6 Sappleton- In the reserves this lad has done well, hasnt he played 1 first team game too?- 6 Clarke- Was brilliant at LB real shame he'l be out for so long, the guy had potential to do well- 8 Fulop- Bloody hell this guy is a god send, get him on a permanent deal ASAP!!!- 10 Hellings- Not seen him at all, has he even played for the reserves? if hes that bad maybe he shoud go in january! Hayes- Played bloody well when he came on in the blackpool game, looked useful, is he still injured thats the only reason i can see logic in not playing him.- 6 Keabi- Has played well in the reserves and seemed useful in his very short stint in the 1st's the guy should be starting!!-7 Newton- Was shite last season and is still shite, he is far to inconsistant plays ok in spells, but not really good enough now. way past it!!!- 4 DJ- Hard one this because he hasnt been that bad, i think when he gets back to full fitness, and gets his sharpness back, hel come good- 7 Cort- waste of bloody space, id rather see MDV in the team, Cort has had his day.- 4 Clemence- Another great signing, absolute brilliance in that position.- 9 N'Gotty- Solid (thats all that needs to be said)- 9 Kishishev- not really done that well, but hasnt really been given the cahnce with Weso and clemence playing so well- 6 Nielson- another dead wood keeper on the cards, sell him in Jan- 3 There is also obvious dead-wood that needs to go in january- they are Maybury, Hammond, Douglas,Kenton and a few more. I make that 6 out of 16 that have actually benefited the 1st team. Was Martin really that good? he obvious wasnt great on the market, i know most of these guys were apointed by the scouts but Allen gets the final say on signings. Players from last years squad- Sheehan- doing really well this season, and is proving himself, he has a big potential and should forfill with the chances hes getting- 7 MDV- I actually think this guy should stil be here, he was doing the job he was asked to do, hes better than cort- 6 Mattock- Doing well as is sheehan i think these two will be battling for that LB position all season, good on them-7 Porter- time to sell i think, hes not really getting the chances and when he does hes being outclassed by whats around him, last year he stood out because of the crap around him, but now with clem and weso (on form) i think its time to sell for his sake- 4 Weso- very good real shame aobut his injury i just hope he can come back as strong or stronger then early on in the season.- 8 Kisnorbo- Great player doing really well alongside Bruno, a definate keep- 7 Mcauley- same as Kisonorbo really well done lad- 7 Stearman- Again only young, seems to be back on from now though, if he can relight the fire he started a few years back he will be a definate starter, even if we get promoted- 8 King- Not sure about him,but nice to see him break through, did well against wolves but didnt create much- 6 Fryatt and Hume- well both doing brilliantly as per usual, great to see Fryatt back in the team- 8 each. What are your veiws? i beleive i have jst covered the whole squad apart from a few who have gone out on loan.
Geo V Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 1 Jimmy Nielsen - haven't seen him, waste of space signing considering we needed to get a loan keeper in after him. 2 James Chambers - Looked quality at RB but is being wasted by Megson as he sticks with Stears 3 Patrick Kisnorbo - Started really solidly, off the boil in last 2 games but still is doing what he is being paid for. 4 Bruno N'Gotty - One of the better signings. Looks classy but seems to tire which may be expected for someone his age. 5 Gareth McAuley - Solid again. Unsung hero and makes more important challenges and interceptions than the other two CB`s IMO. 6 Stephen Clemence - Our best player and signing. Big influence on the team. 7 Iain Hume - Has done OK considering he has started on the bench, in midfield, behind the strikers and as a striker with about 4 different partners. 8 Radostin Kishishev - Weso kept him out of the team so hasnt had a real run but when I have seen him play looks way off the pace. 9 Carl Cort - I hate being harsh on our own players but so far this dude has been diabolical. 10 Dudley Campbell - A couple of goals, wins penos, hits post, looks lively but GM doesn't rate him. If he stayed in the side IMO he would do very well. 11 Shaun Newton - Havent seen much of him but from what I have, MA was right to offer him only a one season deal as he hasnt taken his chances. 12 Matt Fryatt - Got his head down in reserves, scored goals. Gets in the team and looks our most likely scorer. Done well so far. 13 Hossein Kaebi - Forget the Bermuda triangle, Kaebi is in the Iranian version. High hopes, not being played and is rotting in reserves. 14 James Wesolowski - Quality. Forget the age, forget where he has come from. He is looking the part in CM and we miss his presence. 15 Jonathan Hayes - Seen him in bit parts and looks OK but currently injured I think. Coins in the air on this one. 16 Alan Sheehan - Lovely left-foot but his all round game is too weak to be a regular LB or LM in our side. 17 Richard Stearman - Has taken his chance under GM but Im not convinced he offers enough to the team. Good to see he is trying to reach his potential. 18 Sergio Hellings - Former Ajax 2 million Euro man who cant get ahead of academy prospects in the first team. A waste of a signing. 19 Elvis Hammond - Been injured thank god. 20 Mark De Vries - I didn't want him in at the start, played very well in spells and shockingly we get rid of him on loan and keep Cort. Again why bother?! 21 Marton Fulop - Outstanding. Its just a shame that arguably our best signing isnt actually ours to keep. 21 Conrad Logan - Good to see him out on loan to learn his trade. Dumping him in the first team to learn wouldn't have been wise as he isnt ready. 22 Levi Porter - Came on and did well at Palace but hardly been involved since. 23 Joe Mattock - Slow start to the season and has picked up well recently. One for the future and one we can be confident "will make it" 24 Louis Dodds - Probably playing at his level now on loan. Maybe time to let him stay there. 25 Max-Alain Gradel - From reading reports is doing well. Who knows, if he continues to improve maybe we can use him come January? 26 Clive Clarke - Took over at LB and looked very assured and solid. A disaster for him and us since his injury as its gone tats up since then. 27 Alan Maybury - One of a few of the old guard not to be given a second chance.......yet. 28 Darren Kenton - Utility back-up and nothing more. Looks OK at times but makes mistakes. Is what he is, about 9th best defender at club. 29 Reneil Sappleton - I haven't seen him but he seems to be a handful for the reserves although raw from reading reports. I`d still play him instead of CC! 30 Eric Odhiambo - Another youngster who is learning whilst on loan. Thank goodness we are sending our decent kids on loan to learn. 31 Paul Henderson - Is what he is, an average player. Hardly excelled at Bradford so we shouldnt expect too much but a decent back-up. 35 Julio Marco Ferreira - Signs with a reputation, has 12 days to get fit via International games but is slung into the reserves and gets injured. Even when fit Im not sure GM will use him a she may not be his type of player. Best to send him back maybe? 37 Andy King - One game so hard to judge. Nice and neat but nothing special but obviously its too early to say he isn't the real deal. Adda Djeziri - Don`t get the point of signing players like this. Most clubs have players on trial for a week to a month and then make a decision, we seemingly get them here for a while and dont use them. Robert Douglas - Freeloading parasite. Earning for doing fudge all and has no intention of leaving. One of our worst signings in history. BTW I can count past 21 but have copied squad from OS!
Ultra Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 My starting 11 (when fit) Fulop N'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Kaebi Wesolowski Clemence Hume Sheehan Cort Fryatt Subs Henderson Chambers King Hayes Campbell Backup Logan Kenton Mattock Kishishev Porter Sappleton McKay Odhiambo Really couldn't give a monkey's what happens to the rest..
Mr Happy Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I missed the calling out of players for the starting of the wolves game so I was wondering does it make me a bad city supporter or just aware of the 'lack of quality from some/most players' in our squad but for about 1hr 15mins, roughly until the substitution, I failed to notice that kishishev was even playing!!

That's a decent attacking side if Kaebi could show his best side rather than his worst. Sadly I just can't imagine Megson going down that road. Not certain this is true but apparently he left the reserves game against WBA shortly after Kaebi went off injured. He really wouldn't have been impressed and considering the demonstrably useful Sheehan had two bad games in nine and has not been seen since...
