Geo V Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 I not long got off the phone from a mate who is some liaison officer at Arsenal who told me that Arsenals young left-back Armond Traore turned down both us and Sheff United over the last 24 hours. He has no reason to lie but I cant see any links to suggest its true. EDIT - I see SS has this but no mention of any club being involved..... Its a shame as he would be quality for us for a few months.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 I can take rejection from an Arsenal lad but if it was Djimi Traore
Micky Ruddle Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 I can take rejection from an Arsenal lad but if it was Djimi Traore Djimi Traore then not bothered, but as it is another classy Arsenal youngster, then i am a little disappointed. But i'm sure we can cope.
David O'Leary Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Djimi Traore then not bothered is completely shit , but as it is another classy Arsenal youngster, then i am a little disappointed. But i'm sure we can cope. Well put Franck
Brainy Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Its pleasing to see us going out trying to get more players in anyway, even if they are rejecting the chance to join.
Geo V Posted 16 October 2007 Author Posted 16 October 2007 Good old Djimi, who could forget this piss of sublime skill? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFbR4vItHaU
Stuliasz Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Its a shame because I have been really impressed with Armand Traore every time I have seen him in an Arsenal shirt. Always looks the part, maybe a bit naive in a few areas due to his age though.
Head Honcho Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 I'm more worried about the fact that we are trying to sign players with so little experience in the left back position.

Joe. Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Well I should really be disappointed with losing out on an attacking left back and in some ways I am, but whenever I've seen Armand Traore play, and it's been a few times, I actually thought he was quite poor so I can't say I'm too bothered. We do really need a decent attacking fullback though.
potter3 Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Good old Djimi, who could forget this piss of sublime skill? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFbR4vItHaU I still can't grasp what the fook he was trying to do. Just get rid of it 1 yards from your own goal
Joe. Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Good old Djimi, who could forget this piss of sublime skill? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFbR4vItHaU I love that. Djimi will always remain a legend in my heart for that
Geo V Posted 17 October 2007 Author Posted 17 October 2007 I still can't grasp what the fook he was trying to do. Just get rid of it 1 yards from your own goal I can remembers seeing some old clip of some confident Ipswich defender back in the day when under severe pressure near his own goal line he did some skill and turn to get out of it to huge roars from the fans. Unfortunately Djimi didnt quite master the skill the plonker
Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 I'm more worried about the fact that we are trying to sign players with so little experience in the left back position. My sentiments exactly. Although I do rate that Traore, but Mattock and Sheehan are both very young and i'd rather they got the chance and we had an experienced left wing-back to fill in if needed.
