Time to Re adjust?

Still expecting playoffs.

To succeed will take a manager with some flair and confidence, given the recent problems that is going to be hard to find, however, if a manager is given a 3 year contract, and a guarantee of seeing it out that will help.

If i was a Holloway, Tigana or Dowie, i would have the contract include a HUGE payout for early termination, that way, the chairman cannot afford not to back me...the fans will have to accept me...and the players will know where i stand and what i expect and that they will not be here after i am unless i say so.

I would then go out and play some confident, stylish and entertaining football, win the championship and become a force in the Premiership.

Right.

That isn't possible unless we spend about 3 million in January. The players we have at the moment are simply not good enough to get us near the top of the table and stay there. The likes of Stearman, Newton and Cort who have all been regulars this season have not shown any evidence they can cut it so far. Same old story with Stearman 'if he puts his head down he will improve', yet to see that under any of our managers.

Play-offs is a ridiculous expectation this year I think, unless Mandy is willing to burn a whole in his pocket in January.

The only reason it is not genuinely embarrassing is because the League is so tight and there's still a top six place to push for.

But there's no helping Leicester.

You call for managers who really fight to win every three points available and what you get is people who play systems where a draw is always likely, where the football is sure to be dour and whereby there's no chance of creating the electric home atmosphere which is so vital to us making progress.

You ask for people to scout players properly before signing them and instead we sign people who seemingly haven't been looked at at all. Spotting good players is easy but it does need doing properly.

You expect a sensible managerial situation where the message is passed down from the top, where everyone pulls together and where there is continuity. With caretakers, we're approaching our seventh management team in less than 12 months. How daft is that.

You expect a squad of about 26 players which blends quality players, both young and experienced, but instead you have a 36-strong squad where at least nine players who have virtually no chance of competing for a first team place. What a waste of time, money and squad places.

At the very least you expect that our players be fit but then you watch a game which shows that some players are way short in fitness terms and wonder why that should be?

One thing. Our new manager, whoever he is, won't be short of things to do. MM says he wants someone to dictate terms to playes in respect of our style of play and tactics. And even that is sounds like so much shit.

We need a manager who dictates more than that. And we had one except MM chose to let those grumbling from within dictate terms instead of backing the guy, eccentric though he was.

What sort of message did that send. Certainly not one we seem to have recovered from. Until MM resolves to genuinely back someone and demonstrates as much when the flak flies, I'm not surprised so many people turn down the chance to join him.

If backing a boss means transferring some so-called stars I couldn't give a toss. Our one Premiership standard player is a loanee. We have some reasonably promising youngsters. But every single one of our players is well short of what I would call a quality footballer.

And if any think they can do better elsewhere let them go.

Some should be given a gentle push on their way.

Beautiful words of wisdom. :worship:

A good and accurate overview of the situation Thracian! As for the new manager, whoever it may be, the situation is getting a bit tedious now and whilst I shall continue to go down (I refuse to waste my season ticket), I can't say that I go with any sense of excitement or anticipation. They don't appear to be too bothered so why should I. I'm bored, the kids are bored and it's about time we got a bit of entertainment. When I go down with 4 mates next Monday (the free tickets) I hope for once we get a blood and thunder attacking game, I don't even care if we lose 3-2! Any person coming in on a free ticket is a potential future season ticket holder so please, no more fielding a team of defenders and two forwards in the hope of snatching a goal after 89 minutes of dour inept hoofball!!

Cheers folks, things can only get better (can't they?).

I wish you could get that last message over to them.

Problem is I remember when we played Real Sociedad in pre-season under Kelly and, given the perfect opportunity to try and put on a show, we played our part in the most turgid and unambitious excuse for football I have ever seen in a friendly.

What a message that put over and there's been little change ever since.
