kerryh Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 They have said no to postponing our away game against Watford - that's 3 away games in 6 days - It's not fair on the travelling fans!
philafox Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 What's their email address? Lets bombard them with emails. Sure they would have a different attitude if it was a club they liked.
Solihullfox Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 They hate us, we all know that. 75572 Totally agree. You can see them around a table discussing it and saying "we'll get our own back for their terrible behaviour when going into administration" Does anyone have the time and inclination to go back and see if they have set a precedent for this ?. A la Kevin Keegan, I would love it if they have moved a fixture in recent times for exactly the same reason.
Guest Daniel Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 They hate us, we all know that. 75572 Always have and always will I suppose... They'd do anything to screw Leicester City
brfcstu Posted 7 March 2005 Posted 7 March 2005 Do I sense a persecution complex? The fact you have three games in six days is a little harsh - the fact they are away is irrelevant. Its the price of a cup run, and some earlier postponements. The same for everyone Im afraid. Now if the team all came down with flu that would be different!!

V's Blackburn SUNDAY due to TV - original Saturday game against Derby cancelled V's Watford TUESDAY - normal as per original fixture list V's West Ham FRIDAY due to TV

They're not going to let us move one the 2 TV games so the only option is to move the Watford game. Hope that spells it out for you. TV is the cause of the problem.
Guest Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 Of course we have a persecution complex, the way we were treated when we went into Administration, and immediately after we came out compared with the way Ipswich were treated in the same season is just one example of the FL using one rule for us, and another rule for every beggar else!

I dont know the full facts, and wont pretend to, but there is a lot of dislike knocking around for Leicester due to that. Frankly I couldnt care less, as long as we beat you on sunday.

bluefox Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 We are the only FL club left in the FA Cup, and still we cannot get any help from the League. The men in grey suits certainly know how to bear a grudge against a club.
Ricey Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 Very very harsh indeed. The Football League are a shambols.

Sheepshanks was on the board of the Football League at the time - It was in his interest to prevent us from getting promoted...
Guest Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Lisa,Hence my post. Its a perception. 76093 I know, but I get all defensive when the subject of Administration is mentioned!!
davieG Posted 12 March 2005 Posted 12 March 2005 Sounds like catch 222 LCFC to Football league - 'can the Watford game be postponed? FL to LCFC - Yes if Watford say yes LCFC to Watford - Would you be willing to postpone our game? Watford to LCFC - Err yes if the FL say yes LCFC to FL - Watford will if you say yes FL to LCFC - err Watford haven't said yes then LCFC to Watford - Will you say yes? Watford to LCFC - err if the FL say yes LCFC - Oh bollocks to you all ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Leicester boss Craig Levein has fired a verbal broadside at the Football League administrators he blames for the Foxes' fixture pile-up. Levein's Walkers Stadium side are the only non-Barclays Premiership outfit still with an interest in the FA Cup with Leicester due to meet Blackburn Rovers in a quarter-final tie at Ewood Park on Sunday. City are then due to meet Watford in a League clash at Vicarage Road on Tuesday evening before a televised clash with West Ham at Upton Park on Friday night. Concerned at the demands three games in a six-day period would make on his players, Levein asked Connaught Place to sanction a postponement of the Watford fixture only to be dismayed by the League's subsequent refusal. Said the Scotsman: "As the only side left to represent the Championship in the FA Cup, we were looking for some help from the League. "We asked them about the possibility of having the Watford game postponed and they told us it was up to us as a club to ask Watford. "So we did that and Watford said they would abide by the League's decision. "But when we went back to the League, the League said Watford did not want the game moved and as they had to be fair to both sides, they were not willing to allow the postponement. "That left me baffled because it is the governing body's prerogative to change things but they have not made any attempt to help us at all. "Okay, maybe Watford are trying to look after their own best interests and want to play us straight after the cup game. That's understandable. "But there are two or three alternative dates available and so for the life of me I can't understand why we are not getting any help from the League. "We are the only Championship team left in the FA Cup and as our governing body you would have thought the Football League would have tried to help us. "But all I got was a load of rules, regulations and precedents quoted at me. Three games in six days means I can't just concentrate solely on which team I want to play at Blackburn because I have to think about who is going to be able to play again 48 hours later and then again on Friday. It has got to be like that." Two years and one month after Leicester emerged from financial administration, Levein also revealed the financial rewards which would await the Foxes if they were to get the better of Rovers. "We reckon getting to the semi-final would be worth £1million to us," said the Walkers Stadium supremo. "Because of what has happened here at the club in the past, everything is run on a very tight budget and we are always planning for the worst possible scenario. "But our cup run to date has already allowed us to sign Patrick McCarthy from Manchester City and Paddy's just the sort of player we want here - young, hungry and determined to prove himself. "His signing is a direct result of our reaching the quarter-finals of the cup and the extra revenue that is generated for the club."
