Bellend Sebastian Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 It's only Thracian and Daggers that don't join in the pitch fork waving and they aren't really saying it is right as such. Personally think people can have no complaints if they get caught and banned. We have quite a lenient drink driving limit so it's not something you can do accidentally without intending to do it. I couldn't remember contributing to that thread as much as I did, but I shouldn't be surprised. It is a bugbear of mine that, given the things people do get hot under the collar about, how relaxed we are generally about all the folk that get maimed and killed every year on the roads. We went round and round in circles, as usual, but without reading every post again I seem to recall that the main thrust of Thracian's argument was that drink drivers get a raw deal because they get the book thrown at them when there are actually lots of things people do behind the wheel that are just as bad that they get away with. Perhaps he's been a vociferous road safety campaigner since, it's hard to say

Perhaps he's been a vociferous road safety campaigner since, it's hard to say I remember it was about that time that Thracian was having several pints of Barbars in the Swan before and after matches and then driving home, one time he got a flat on the motorway and drove home without stopping, spraying sparks off his rim, because he knew if he stopped to change his tyre and the police stopped to help him he'd lose his licence.

Best thing I've read all day!

He must have been properly rat-arsed to conclude that was the best course of action. Yes officer, I am well aware there's a tyre missing. That wheel's never had one, and it's perfectly fine without it. It's a good excuse for posting the video of the law catching up with Thracian's Australian counterpart again

Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 There's an old story about a quite famous city fan from the Groby area who was once that rat arsed driving back from a game with Grimsby in the early 80's that he actually did the vast majority of the journey on the hard shoulder.
