Suffolk_fox Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 once again here goes our FICKLE fans if we win our next game everyone will be talking about promotion again. this season just needs to be righten off and just concentrate on stayin in the championship. our main problem is the shit that martin allen brought in in the summer that some would struggle to get in a league 1 team. we only play a couple that wasn't with the club last year so do you all really expect miracles come on for f**k sake it's not gonna happen. it's not gonna help keep moaning and jeering at home games 5 mins into a fooking home game. ollie isn't gonna be able to make miracle signings in jan because of the inflatted prices that the window brings with it. ollie should be left alone to do his magic in the summer at least he doesn't sign players on high wages and fes that haven't proved themselves he's making them work for it like the latest signing we've made. he wants to stay in england so he's got to earn his permanent transfer BRAVO OLLIE. I hope you aren't including me in the Fickle Fans jibe. I am very optimistic but at the end of the day I am a realist. The lads we have in at the moment may be good, they may not be good - the problem is they cannot play together well consistently.
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Moan ......... Moan .......... Moan. That's all that seems to be on this message board at the moment in nearly all the topics. Can we have some cheer us up threads for a change? Check out the "Chebs" thread.

MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I don't really believe that most of us on here are slating Holloway for the current shambolic state this club is in. The focus has - deservedly - turned and now lies on the players, whom we all know most just can't be arsed to play with enough passion. However, Holloway can be critized for bringing in a 35-year old striker who's done nothing but nothing in the games he's been involved in. And you can also blame him for talking too much, but not offering enough in return. I know that signing players ain't an easy thing to do, but Holloway's now had 12 games to assess the weaknesses that there are to even out. STILL, we're connected to numerous players on the transfer front, most of them strikers. So I am seriously asking myself what's going on right now when the majority clearly sees that the midfield needs strenghtening and that most of our players do behave like headless chicken on the pitch, that our defense is a liability in 50 percent of all games and that our goalkeeper situation is a serious issue to be adressed. So, who else - apart from a proper team captain - can establish some sort of team spirit, enthusiasm and joy when all you have (and that's only a fan's perspective) is a bunch of egoistic, egocentric guys that simply aren't giving a 100 percent or just aren't good enough in terms of football skills? I admit it's a terrible basis to work from for a coach. I seriously hope Holloway can make this happen, because all that counts right now is bringing in enough points to avoid relegation.
richy2704 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 [quote name='Suffolk_fox' date='Jan 6 2008, 03:06 PM' post='858393' My whole point was that if Holloway can manage to take a club like Plymouth, which I think you will agree has a small (if loyal) following but has no real financial backing and has to sell players to survive then think what he can do at Leicester with a bigger (if sometimes deluded) following, a multi millionaire chairman and good facilities. I do wish Argyle all the best, and hope that the fans get over losing Holloway soon. If you didn't like him, move on. If you did like him, don't get all sour like a jilted bunny boiler. You seem like an intelligent chap Richie, all the best. Cheers fella, yes we are a small club and with about 8500 season ticket holders so I would agree with that. With regards to being a selling club I cant understand where that comes from, we have never untill now had real bidding war players, our most expensive sale(until Gosling goes to Everton) was Mickey Evans to southampton for £750,000 about 11 years ago. We have survived by using caution and buying good lower league players or ageing quality players. I would love a bigger stadium and Multi millionaire chairman, or a bit more money spent on transfer, but I dont want to be the next Luton, Swindon, Coventry orwhoever is in financial difficult. With regards to Ollie, some of your fans need to give him a chance he has only bought in two players at the moment, I know its his tactics but the players attitude and (lack of) abilities were already here. Good luck the rest of the season but for god sake dont sack another manager.
Suffolk_fox Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Good luck the rest of the season but for god sake dont sack another manager. I really bloody hope we don't!
DB11 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 so you think ollie has the same pashion passion as he had when he was at plymouth? he is only here for the money Why does anyone work? I'm pretty sure it's for the money anyway. As long as he brings success who cares why he is here?
He's not bald Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Why does anyone work? I'm pretty sure it's for the money anyway. As long as he brings success who cares why he is here? If he's just here for the money then he won't bring success! I've little doubt that he want's to succeed but the reasons for that success are in all honesty probably selfish reasons and I'm not knocking that, but let's face it he has no allegiance to Leicester at all and if he walked away tomorrow or in 5 years time I doubt he would look back! Bottom line is to succeed you have to have a certain amount of ability and sure he has shown what he can do at a little club tucked away in the corner of England that few visit and even less care about but we are a much bigger club, with better facilities more finance (alledgely), and a fan base that hardly any in the championship and even some teams in the premiership can compete with. I think he is out of his depth and being asked to punch well above his weight...I am probably going to get slated for this and I hate to say it but what we need is another Megson...that's the only way up!
Eastern Fox Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I am probably going to get slated for this and I hate to say it but what we need is another Megson...that's the only way up! What, a disloyal tosser that starts games with 7 defenders?

Hi mate. 100% Right behind you on that one right up to MEGSON.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 It hurts to say this cus i really like Ollie and i really hated Megson but i think Megson could at least see with this crap bunch of twats we have we can't play attacking football as we can not score enough goals if we lose 1 or 2!Unfortunetly the only way seems to play boring football and hope we can keep a clean sheet (even harder now without Fulop and not playing the boring 5-3-2 system) and nick a goal as I think Megson saw straight away. Its now half time, Ollie has changed system 4 times in first 30 minutes, we are 2-0 down against a very average team and he takes Fryatt off to put a defender in midfield!! And some think hes a good manager.
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What, a disloyal tosser that starts games with 7 defenders? Being fair to Megson, although his methods weren't pretty, he did have a plan which he stuck too and he did send the team out in an obviously organised way with each one fully aware of what was expected from him. Furthermore Megson seemed to get everyone performing with commitment, with great concentration and to a reasonable standard given their limitations. Whether, over time, he'd have expanded the football and made it more waqtchable I don't know but I regretted his departure but he did seem to know what he was trying to do.

PLaying to your teams strengths seems a good idea when you're flirting with relegation - Ollie take note!
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Did any of you guys go to the southampton match yesterday, if so what did you really thint to it [truth].
He's not bald Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What, a disloyal tosser that starts games with 7 defenders? A disloyal tosser that gave us the best defence in the league and has already gone a long way to sorting out Bolton...love him or hate him you can't deny the facts!
Ultra Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 We'll see what happens at Bolton once Anelka leaves. Yesterday's defeat by the blunts might prove a sign.
smokey Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 OLLIE OUT.ALLEN IN! What are you talking about, its allens signings that as got us in this mess!
He's not bald Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 We'll see what happens at Bolton once Anelka leaves. Yesterday's defeat by the blunts might prove a sign. What ever happens at Bolton really is not important,But I know your a true fan Ultra and you therefore must have seen that in the short time Megson was in charge and however negative the football was we had started to turn the corner...surely you can't disagree?
Ultra Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What are you talking about, its allens signings that as got us in this mess! Some of them.. Along with those of Megson, Kelly, Levein and even Micky Adams!

I was at Glanford Park and witnessed his final game against the blunts. In those two games we hardly created any chances at all. They were two of the poorest performances I can recall in over 30 years of watching City. So yes, I can disagree..
