Ibbyfox Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 Shouldn't the simple fact the bid was rejected comprehensively be enough though? IMO it should and that money was a major factor in this. No-one should be knocked for wanting more money and taking advantage of being in a strong bargaining position as McAuley finds himself given the Ipswich bid. Everyone would want the same in whatever field of employment you find yourself in and definitely does not signify an attitude problem - just a fact of life.
Calum McDermott Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 I don't really care - I'd prefer reading about quality loan players coming in to add some meat to the squad than this. Well you would vanilla ice

Thracian Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 He's been a stalwart defender, no question and I'd imagine even my own marks for him would be fairly high overall. I just remain concerned that we'll never build a fluid team around two such indifferent passers at the back and believe we'll remain vulnerable to anyone who stretches our back line and aims to get through us on the floor with nippy players. But I can't see anything much changing now for the forseeable future so good luck to the guy. He certainly deserved to be paid as much as other senior team members.
