The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 Cricket. I thought I was quite up on cricket. Who is Tim Ambrose? He's keeping wicket vs NZ...
SamL Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 From Wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Ambrose Timothy Raymond Ambrose (born 1 December 1982) is an Australian born English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. He commenced with Sussex in 2000, although now now plays for Warwickshire. His first notable cricketing performance was in the Second XI Championship in 2000, when he played two games in the season. He soon established himself in the first-class team, having helped Sussex out of the Second Division and helping them stay in the First Division ever since. Since 2003, Ambrose has played Twenty20 cricket. Ambrose transferred to Warwickshire in 2006. His highest first-class score, achieved in May 2007, was an innings of 251 not out, against Worcestershire. On 13 June 2007, Ambrose began his first game for the England Lions. Whilst only making four with the bat, Ambrose kept well and took numerous catches. David Lloyd has called Ambrose, "The most attacking keeper-batsman in county cricket at the moment".[citation needed] In January 2008, Ambrose was selected for both the One-Day International and Test squads for the England tour of New Zealand.[1] On March 5, 2008 he made his Test debut against New Zealand after not being selected to play in the One-Day International series.
The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 Cool, I think we've been needing a decent keeper/batsman for a while now. I never liked Read or Jones. Nixon was quality but obviously not at the right age to be worth investing in.

The selecters were looking to the future so dropped him for the more inexperienced. If Ambrose has a good tour, I can see him becoming our Wicketkeeper for years to come.
The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 I'm not sure how I missed him. I need to get Sky really, to watch some cricket. But I'm not allowed to put a dish on my block of flats and Virgin media won't do my broadband for me. Bastardos.

The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 Why not? Something to do with my postcode. Wa nkers.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 Something to do with my postcode.Wa nkers. Their super fast cable broadband only covers 56% of the country. You have Cable and Wireless to blame for that.
SamL Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 Something to do with my postcode.Wa nkers. That's why I can't get Virgin Media. I've got Sky though but I think I'd rather have Virgin Media. Apparently, I can't get it in my area because I live on a hill.
