I'm crap at maths.... plz help Assume price per Litre is 105p 100 Mile trip. Divide 100 miles by 9.7 =10.3 Litres of petrol. So it would have cost around £10.82...

This is done as follows: 100 miles / 9.7 miles per litre gives 10.31 litres used 10.31 litres x £0.95 per litre gives £9.79 as a cost of those 10.31 litres

Exactly - thats why I based my calculation on 105p because thats about average at the min for petrol, so I ignored the 95p bit! Then he revealed he drove a DIESEL VW passat
