Brainy Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 I really cant imagine so.. It was mentioned by Jeff Stelling today, he doesnt think so either.
Father Ted Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 It would just show how bad our midfielders and strikers have been this season.
FilboFox Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 Good defense... apart from that, we've been a joke most of the time. Apart from the odd game where we win, its back to the same old shit... what worries me is that we will stay up because of the odd win and we won't learn our lessons for next season. If we stay up, Ollie really needs to make sure that he gets everything sorted up front. He's kept the defense pretty tight since he's been here as otherwise we wouldn't still have the best defense in the division but he REALLY needs to sort out the attack... the midfield is pretty good but up front, there is a SERIOUS lack of quality... COME ON CITY!!! DON'T LET US DOWN!!!
Thracian Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 Our defenders might not concede many goals but their distribution, support and speed out of defence is pathetic.
Matt Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 Perhaps facts and figures on paper do prove we have the best defensive record but in reality i'm shocked by that fact, The defence is as already said and proved by the facts our strongest unit, but even our defence doesn't look brilliant, the amount of times our defence strays and we get lucky, Example - The penalty today, Where was the defence? Hendo had to make that challenge, he had to come of his line because fook knows where our defence was, Earlier in todays game Hendo had to come out and head the ball out of play again where was the defence? Hull's last goal, Fair enough we were chasing the game, pushing forward and looking for an equaliser but our defence was no-where to be seen again. On paper it proves this fact, Can't deny that but surly it just points to the fact the rest of the teams have awful, pathetic defensive units and how awful our strikers are for not scoring.
Ultra Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 We don't have the best defence in the league. But teams know that once they take a lead against us, we're very unlikely to get it back. Today was yet another case in point.

DB11 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Knowing us we will go down and then, on the last day of the season, lose the record of having the best defence so we get relegated with NO record!
