Simi Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 As to why we don't do this permanently - it saves no energy; So why bother doing it in the first place?
James. Posted 29 March 2008 Author Posted 29 March 2008 Also didn't Google release Blackle which is essentially the same thing, done in the name of energy conservation... And now they tell us it makes f**k all difference anyway. Nevermind the fact that trying to get everyone to turn off their lights for an hour is one of the stupidest, least effective ways of trying to raise awareness about climate change... When will governments, people, whoever realise that 1. all these ridiculous suggestions will make f**k all difference to an inevitable process and 2. that maybe, if they really do think we can make a difference, they should try focusing on the real polluters instead of the easy option of Joe Public.
The Reverend Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Dont we turn our lights out for like 6 hours or more every night anyway? What a waste of time.
Brainy Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I guess Google realise that the Google logo at the top left of JTB's link sends you to the Google with the "lights turned on"? --- my bad - the lights were turned on at 9.
