tr 01 Mr. Bungle - Ren & Stimpy - not bad for an intro

track 01 chemical brothers - The Private Psychedelic Reel - Always liked the Chems especially the older stuff

track 02 super furry animals - (Drawing) Rings Around the World - Bit too sixtys sounding for me

track 03 The Proclaimers - Get Ready - Some covers are better then others. This is an other

track 04 centre1 - should be no.1 in the charts

track 05 No Doubt - It's My Life - sorry never liked it

track 06 The Smiths - Accept Yourself - Like a bit of Smiths but they have done better than this

track 07 reef-yer old - what happened to chillin'? No, it is a good tune

track 08 carter usm - Surfin' USM1 - Any tune that samples call me is good enough for me

track 09 The Wonder Stuff - Coz I Luv You - Not a bad cover but prefer the original

track 10 carter usm - The Life And Soul Of The Party Dies - I like Carter but I am not sure about this one

track 11 basement jaxx - Rendez-Vu - Good track

track 12 GEM1 - My mum might like that jingle

track 13 Gnarls Barkley-Gone Daddy Gone - One of the better tracks off the first album, like it

track 14 the shamen - Coming On Strong (Beatmasters 7'') - Really like the shamen before they made Boss Drum

track 15 lethal bizzle - police on my back - Good tune

track 16 Does It Offend You Yeah - Weird Science - Not my bag I'm afraid

track 17 gorillaz - bill murray - Like a bit of gorillaz eventhough they are pop

track 19 soft cell - Where Did Our Love Go - Good old tune

track 20 sub sub - ain't no love - Never got on with this band

track 21 John Lennon - The Ballad Of John And Yoko - SAorry but I really, really hate this but then I have never liked the Beatle

track 22 the dogs d'amour - Chiva - Top band, good song

track 23 the zutons - You Will You Wont - Alright, nothing special

track 24 Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place - I like

track 25 The Black Crowes - Twice As Hard - Again top band. Heard they reformed recently and are releasing an album soon

track 26 The Wombats - Moving To New York - OKish

track 27 jesus jones - Welcome Back Victoria - Best track in the mix. Thank you for reminding me about it.

track 28 suede - We Are The Pigs - Hate his voice so had to stop

track 29 roots manuva - colossal insight - Love it!

track 30 supergrass - coffee in the pot - A step away from the norm for them and a good one too.

Overall I enjoyed it but I had heard most of these before so maybe old prejudices come through in the review.

1. Ren and Stimpy

[Opens letter]

Ren: Listen! Listen to what it says. "Dear Ren: - That's me, that's me! - You are my favorite TV star." Are you getting this?

[Rubs the letter on Stimpy's face]

Ren: It's me they love! I am *king*! "When I grow up, I want to be just like you." How about that?

[Elbows Stimpy in the stomach; Stimpy doubles over with pain]

Ren: A man with some ambition! "You are my favorite person in the whole world. Love - He says love - Your friend... Stimpy"?

2. Chemical Brothers

I don't know why I never listened to more Chemical Brothers, I should have done. I'll remember to tell my grandchildren this when I'm on my death bed - "Listen to more Chemical Brothers, Grandchildren. Ergh...."

3. Super Furry Animals

Some bastard set fire to Sutton Park today, the second time this week. Imagine the number of furry animals that died in the mini-infernos? I bet none of them were humming of this basic 12bar blues riff when then inhaled the smoke. Poor bunnies, they'd probably prefer other SFA tracks to this one too.

4. Proclaimers

I went off them when they became overt apologists for God. I should be able to be bigger than that and look past it, but I can't. Also, I reckon that if you cover a classic song you really need to bring something extra to the table whereas this seem to just plod through the motions. Not for me.

6. No Doubt

It's too 'Europe' for my liking.

7. Mozza

What's not to like?

8. Reef

Ha! I like Reef. I always feel guilty liking them - but, hell, I'm going to do it anyway. Hang on, what are they calling me? They calling me 'old'? Godammit! Step outside Reef and you can discuss this with my fists of fury.

9. Carter

I think it was Glastonbury when I saw them come on to this. They were fun, weren't they? With their funny hair and baggy shorts. They didn't half produce some tosh though.

10. Wonderstuff

I can't get past the fact that he is obnoxious. I try to pop on a Wonderstuff album but then I end up seeing the arrogant face of Miles Hunt in my head. Grr. It's there now...

11. Carter

This is a Carter track I don't get a lot from, all guitars and no samples. It's not bad, I just know I'll not listen to it again.

'Shadows? On me lungs? Oh God in 'Eaven help me.'

12. Basement Jaxx

The sister-in-law likes BJ, she likes them a lot. This kind of music just reminds me of those programs where they follow a holiday rep around Lorette de Mar for a holiday season. The sister-in-law likes going to Lorette de Mar for her holidays. Not me, I'd prefer a stormy weekend in Clitheroe.

13. Gnarls Barkley

For me, another cover that simply doesn't hold a candle to the original.

14. Shamen

I saw them in a park in Newcastle along with Chumbawamba and Credit to the Nation. It was a one day anti-racism, anti-fascism festival and the rain was bucketing down. I think there were 12 of us watching and only three of them had paid to get in. Drunk? Was I! This reminds me of that mad day - I'm grinning like a twat!

15. Lethal Bizzle

Where'd my big grin go? I hate this/him with venom.

16. DIOYY

After the last track anything would word - and this does. Weird Science was great, her breasts went HUGE!

17. Gorrilaz

I like this, and everything else produced under the Gorrilaz name, it really works for me.

18. Soft Cell

See - cover versions that add something. This really works because anything camped up this much does. As Tony the Tiger would have said at the time "Grrrrrrrrrrrrreat!"

19.Sub Sub

This is the sound of 'Entry £1: Two drinks £1' night at The Blue Monkey, Sunderland. Enough helpings of two drinks for a pound helped to make this song bearable but it is too early to start drinking at the moment.

20. John Lennon

This man is untouchable in my book, he does no wrong. If anyone wants to try to point out things he did wrong then go ahead - I'll have my fingers in my ears.

21. Dogs D'Amour

No.

22. Zutons

I bought a Zuton's album and played it once.

23. Radiohead

No big fan of La Yorke. As I think I wrote in another mix, I liked them at the beginning and it strikes me that the worse their music gets the more adulation they receive. This isn't to denigrate the technical accomplishments they achieve with their productions, I just think they are doing it because they don't know what else to do with their lives if they stopped.

24. Black Crowes

Didn't like them (even though I didn't listen to anything by them) and I was expecting to say 'pah, what rhubarb this song is.' But I can't. I like it - it's a snorting piece of blues rock. Excellent, I think I'm going to explore what other stuff of theirs I have always denied myself.

Didn't like them (even though I didn't listen to anything by them) and I was expecting to say 'pah, what rhubarb this song is.' But I can't. I like it - it's a snorting piece of blues rock. Excellent, I think I'm going to explore what other stuff of theirs I have always denied myself.

if i were you i'd concentrate on the 'southern harmony and musical companion' album, the rest have 2 or 3 thrillers (most of which only sound goods because the sound like anything off 'SHAMC') the rest being fillers. the firsrt album is ok, but very very commercial.

oh yeah they did a live album with jimmy page of led zep and blues classics covers, that is fantastic!

oh yeah, i do have the clash version on my generic mp3 player, and i did think this would annoy you but i do like lethal bizzles lyrics, they're funny, and he likes punto's, so he's alright by me.
