More false promises?

Ian Holloway has promised Leicester supporters "we will not let you down" when the club take their fight for survival to Barnsley on Saturday.

The Foxes, who slipped back into the relegation zone courtesy of Sheffield Wednesday's draw against Plymouth, will take a travelling support of 4,000-plus to Oakwell.

In a message to the club's fans, Holloway said: "I know how nervous you all are, but I believe the lads know their jobs and know what is expected of them. We will not let you down.

"We are going to go and give it everything at Barnsley - in all three of our remaining games - and I believe we can get out of this mess.

"Your support is immense and it is really helping everyone who is wearing that badge on their shirts. I can assure you of that.

"Last weekend against Colchester you were absolutely brilliant. I understand 4,000 tickets have been sold and that it is going to be nearer 6,000 come Saturday. That is incredible."

It's like i've said time and time again I don't wanna hear all this "we're trying", "we were unlucky, but it'll come soon" e.t.c, bullshit, I want them to do their talking on the pitch.

However on the other hand with all the media attention I suppose he can't really say anything else but as fans who have watched this shite all season it does seem abit patronizing.

Forty-three League matches we've had before this to "give it everything". That's the least any chairman or manager should expect and that's not what we've had any more under Holloway than any other manager.

We didn't give it everything at Blackpool, at Southampton, at Hull, at Watford, against Charlton or other games I could mention. It's patonising crap.

It is all empty words he needn't have said. All I'm interested in is what he does not what he says.

Basically you expect him to say that he made mistakes or isn't a good manager after every game we lose. I don't expect him to say sorry for every poor performance as you its empty words. But then again football speak is all about spin and cliches these days.
