Scow Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 This season has just been one big mess and I can't wait for it to end. It's all well and good attaching blame to Mandaric and Holloway, but I actually blame the players more than anyone else. Of course all the changes haven't helped, though the players have enough ability and know-how to have avoided this situation. We went down with a wimper yesterday and the cowards didn't have the bottle to come out and face the flak - if they had put in 100% then they could have held their heads high. Their no show says it all. It really is a sad state of affairs to rely on Southampton fuc king up. I really can't see us getting anything from Stoke as we'll most likely get overpowered, go a goal down and then crumble. I wonder how many teams have been able to stay up in this division without back to back wins all season? Certainly would be interesting to find out.
Joe. Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 It's this bloody division that's the problem. With the unpredictability of things Southampton could well go and beat West Brom on their own turf. It's just so hard to call, even for a 1st vs 22nd match. We've just got to pray tomorrow night.
tartanowl Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Here's hoping West Brom beat them tomorrow. Southampton deserve to go down. By far the worst side we've played at Hillsborough this year.
Hatfield Saints Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Saints fan here - it's suprising how similar the conversation are on this forum and thesaintsforum.co.uk! We don't have a hope in hell of getting anything at WBA tommorow night, Saints just have no consistency: A team who can smash Bristol City off of St.Mary's, draw at Charlton and then get outplayed by Burnley deserves to be in the position we find ourselves. I hope you understand that I am wishing for a point tommorow and then 3 against Sheff Utd, with Stoke doing us a massive favour. But like many a post I have read on this page, us Saints fans live in hope...it's a disgrace isn't it really that teams like Saints, Sheff Wed, yourselves are in the bowels of the Championship when teams like Hull look set to get promoted. Such is the unpredicatability of this league I guess. I cannot complain, we have been shit all season, we have too many journeymen in our squad (Jason Euell) in agmonst fantastic players like Andrew Davis and too many ****s at boardroom level who would rather look after their interests then save SFC. All the best for the future, regardless of what league you or ourselves are in, what will be will be. I just thought you lot might need reassuring that their are other fans in the country at the moment who are just as depressed! Hatfield Saints.
Joe. Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I was just going to write a post about how I'm sure Southampton fans are thinking exactly the same as us before you've just written that. Although your team's just as bad as ours this season it still doesn't help knowing this. The unpredictability of it all is unbearable at the moment. West Brom should really beat you comfortably but I just can't see it happening like that unfortunately. You lot are our only hope of us staying up I think.
Hatfield Saints Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Joe, you have nothing to worry about, there is no chance of us beating Brom tommorow night. Have a spare fiver? Put it on 5-0 WBA, we've lost by that score line three times this season and wouldn't suprise me if we lost by it again tommorow!

Put it on 5-0 WBA, we've lost by that score line three times this season and wouldn't suprise me if we lost by it again tommorow! We thought that and we stuffed them 4-1! That's us with the worst goalscoring record in the league.
Jack Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 We thought that and we stuffed them 4-1!That's us with the worst goalscoring record in the league. This is what worries me about tomorrow night. If we shown we are capable of beating West brom by that scoreline in their own back yard, then Im sure anyone else in this league could do the same.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I have a funny feeling that IF they lose to West Brom tomorrow, they may only get a point against Sheff Utd - Because Sheff Utd are on a roll and don't really have any pressure on them because noone really expects them to make sixth but they will still try because they have an outside chance I also have a funny feeling we may nick it against Stoke because noone really expects us to win there and i think they may bottle it Heres to hoping FOXES NEVER QUIT The ultimate optimist.

Hatfield Saints Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Kevin Phillips hates us, probably becuase we never really warmed to him when he was at Saints, illustrated by his much publicised "Now fook off" as he ran past us last year after equalising, he is a banker to score tommorow night. I'm probably going to put 50 on WBA tommorow when I get to the Hawthorns - the winnings will ease the pain (heaven forbid we should win, but in that kind of situation, what does £50 matter!)
Jack Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Playing against 10 men helped. Suppose so. Didn't they end up with 9 if I remember rightly ?
thecannon Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 How has it come to this? How is it that I want West Brom and Sheffield United to beat Southampton more than I want us to beat Stoke? I'm utterly devoid of any confidence in this club right now. Yeah i know what you mean mate. I have no confidence in them what so ever. How can the team that i saw this season hammer Watford, Norwich, WBA away, Bristol away, Be in this mess! ITS VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Lets just hope the players can raise their game when the odds are down!

How can the team that i saw this season hammer Watford, Norwich, WBA away, Bristol away, Be in this mess! ITS VERY FRUSTRATING!! It's the same for us Saints fan. We've thumped Bristol City and Hull at home and beaten Stoke and West Brom but we just seem to think we can play at 50% and beat teams who aren't near the top. S****horpe should have beaten us at St Marys, as should have Colchester. You never know what's going to happen in the Championship, there's no point thinking you're dead and burried until the season is finally over. There are still 5 teams who could realistically go down.

Realistically 3 teams can go down beacause you have such a shite goal difference, even more so with the pounding you get tomorrow night.

jumbo mills Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I have a feeling southampton will not pick a point up from their final 2 games, meaning we will be ok
Hatfield Saints Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Be sure to look out for me on Sky tonight- I'll be the prat crying into his scarf as the 4th goes in....
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 It will be the worst feeling logging on tomorrow morning to check the score - I remember thinking with optimism that Barnsley were going to get trampled by Watford a few weeks ago. The reality kicked in when I saw the 3-0 reverse, which I fear I will see tomorrow morning.
Dr The Singh Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Be sure to look out for me on Sky tonight- I'll be the prat crying into his scarf as the 4th goes in.... Were fecked, I believe Baggies will tonight, but I can't see us beating stoke, but I can see saints beating sheff utd though!!!

You're thinking of Collins John/Jorrin John, neither of which play for S'fampt'n.
