Most of the other summer signings who were signed wrongly have been released. How the hell are we meant to know how he will perform in a real game if they don't at least try. He's played at international level with Holland up to the under 20's and cost Anderlecht 2,000,000 euros. How can he be a bad player? It's impossible. Surely.

I've seen him play a dozen times or more for the reserves and he looks distinctly average, certainly not better than Weso or King and as they've struggled to get a game especially King I really don't see the problem. Wasn't he signed as one for the future. The other players weren't released they were paid off maybe Helling's hasn't been able to agree a severance package and is happy to carry on picking up whatever he is currently contracted to. Have you not ever played Football Manager Obviously you cannot release a player for nothing, unless their contract is near to expiring. Why would anyone accept that? You can release youth players for free and players nearing the end of their contracts only for nothing. That's what I meant, he has been placed on the transfer list and it is not likely anyone will come in for him so he may aswell be released like the rest. Or 'payed off'. Some players don't perform in the reserves because their is nothing really to play for, he should have been used in one of the League cup games this season.

What are you on about you're the one that used the word released I'm the one that said they weren't and were paid off. I think you need to sort you're own word usage out before you question mine. If a player want's to get in the first team he needs to demonstrate that he's up to it and better than others competing for the same position - King and Weso have done that Hellings hasn't - why should he get preferential treatment. The fact that he's not played suggests I'm right about him and your just making wild suggestions probably out of frustration.

If you say so but not in my vocabulary. Besides it's irrelevant to the point you raised the guy's still here because either we haven't offered him a deal or he hasn't accepted one. And he's still not better than Oakley, Clemence, Wesolowski, King or Hendrie.

Il have to take your word on that Davie because i aint seen him play. If he's worse than Clemence and Oakley he must be totally fooking useless.

Well in truth it's hard to say re Oakley and Clemence as their problem is they are underperforming against known ability, but that's almost irrelevant because without any shadow of a doubt he's behind King and Weso so unless they are unavailable as well I see no valid reason in him playing ahead of them.

I wish Anderlecht would come and buy something off me. I don't care if Anderlecht paid £10m for the guy, Anderlecht are welcome to him. Hellings never takes two touches when four or six will do. Not once have I seen him take control of a reserves game and at times we've been embarrassed. The reason he's not played a single game for us is the same reason Kaebi shouldn't have got anywhere near the shirt. He's nowhere near good enough. People who did push through to the first team from the reserves - guys like Porter, Shush!, Stearman, King, Wesolowski - stood out in that football. Even Hammond looked a class above, and Fryatt. Billy McKay looks good and Sappleton certinly has some impact and scores some goals. But Hellings, Bori, Laczko, Kaebi, Djizirii have never found it easy at all. But it just shows how our first team has been devalued when people even mention them as possibles.
