Olton Fox Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 He's been a massive disappointment to me this season. Agreed mate, Oakley's contributed absolutely nothing in my opinion. Both he and Howard can fcuk off back to the sheep as far as I'm concerned.
Joe. Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 Henderson (keep for sub purposes, we need a new keeper) Logan Douglas Cisak Stearman Chambers Maybury Cox N'Gotty Kisnorbo McAuley Worley Rowe-Turner Mattock Clapham Shush! Bell Gradel (these two will be key next season) Bori Kishishev Clemence Wesolowski Hellings Hendrie King Oakley Hayes Porter Laczko Hume Campbell Fryatt Hammond Dodds Hayles Sappleton Odhiambo Howard Chambers All the ones not in bold can **** off for all I care.
mikelcfc Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 hume does want to stay, fact. but ollie doesnt like him and hume is pissed off with him. if ollie stays, hume probs wont but if ollie goes then hume seffo wants to stay. i know who i want to stay.
Jordan Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 I'd hate to see Patrick Kisnorbo go because he's been a steady and solid performer in the back for the past couple of seasons. I'm sure there'd be a club that would swoop for him (and he's only got one season left in his contract, right?). However, Kisnorbo's be out for a few months recovering from that knock on his knee, and I wonder if that will detract potential suitors from risking money on a player that will miss some early-season games and may have a poor recovery; perhaps he'll have to stay put in Leicester for the time being. Could Kisnorbo's injury be serendipitous?

There will be a slashing of the wage bill, and an attempt by Mandaric to recoup some of his losses with transfer revenue. If any club comes in (even the scum ) with a bid of £500k for Hume, he'd probably leave, whoever the manager is.
Finn Claw Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 if we get any semi decent offer for any of our players they are gone, far too high wages and too much money that needs to be recouped. Not sure who is going to bid on any of them though? My guess is, Stearman, Weso, Hume, Mattock will go quite quickly. All the loanees will obviously go. Clemence, oakley, DJ and Howard will dpend on someone bidding for them
act smiley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Someone will put in a cheeky bid for the players with big reputations and shite performances on the hope its just Leicester thats made them rubbish and once they've moved they'll start playing well again. Clemence, Oakley, Howard and Campbell will all be off for £500k a pop. I think we'll obviously have to punt out N'Gotty, probably for nothing, to sort out the wage bill. I don't think we necessarily need a new keeper - it might be handy considering the reputation of the style of football down there (here? blimey) to have plenty of crosses, but Henderson has always been a good league one standard keeper and I don't think that we desperately need something else. Stearman, if we can afford to keep him, should stay but I have a feeling that he'll be off for a million to one of the teams going for promotion to the premiership. Mattock again, will probably end up getting sold. McAuley will have found his level, but seeing as we had some million pound bids in January, I can't see us turning down another of those if Ipswich come back. Kisnorbo will go in January when he's fit. Hume will be off for a million too. In fact, same with pretty much the entire squad. The word of the day is Bollocks. The word of the day for Monday is Firesale.
Finn Claw Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 whoever we get bids for that are acceptable will be gone, we won't just be able to choose who we want to stay. Hume is gone
renards Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Some daft posts on here. Think of facts and were we are. Kish was complaining his wages would go down 25%, are the rest of the contracts the same (3 months less money) Mattock is are most sought after asset, insane to think he will stay. Stearman will go, obvious Hume would be a half decent 2nd tier player All the loan players shipped back. The old farts are at their last club and will sit out there contracts 'happy days' Any player that is wanted by a higher div team will go..who wouldn't? I'm hoping that our hand is forced now and we have to play youth with a few mature heads, would of kept us up this season.
Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 we'll take hume off you. and clemence Take Clemence, I would even walk him up to the City Ground to get rid of the pile of s*it. You can't have Hume though!
Narborough Bod Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Take Clemence, I would even walk him up to the City Ground to get rid of the pile of s*it.You can't have Hume though! isn't it funny that there have been loads of posts with us saying 'we'll have Kris Commons', he'd fit into our team, etc etc and now he's leap frogging us and they're talking about taking our best players. all we need is Leeds to win the play offs now and Shush will probably stick the preverbial 2 fingers up at us. next years starting X1 Henderson Cox McAuley Worley ??? - mattock and stearman both to go!! Gradel Weso King Bell Hume Campbell
MikeyT Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 To be honest, when you look at the team we have, i think pretty much most, if not all of them would be great in League 1. But obviously we have to remember such things like the big wages a few maybe on plus if the likes of Howard, Oakley etc. have a clause in their contract allowing them to leave if relegated for a nominal fee and things like that.
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Henderson New GK Stearman(If he wants to stay) Worley Kisnorbo(He wont pass medical at a new club but will prob leave in Jan transfer window) McAuley Rowe-Turner New CB Mattock(If he wants to stay) New LB (Because doesn't look like Sheehan is coming back) Bell Gradel Weso Clemence King Beswick Hayes Zsolt/Bori (Might do a job in League One) New RW/LW Hume Campbell Sappleton Fryatt (League One player so might be useful) New Striker Get rid of Hayles, Howard, Oakley, Clapham, N'Gotty. Hendrie won't sign, & I can't blame him. Stearman, Mattock, Kisnorbo, McAuley, maybe Hume. Will be subject of transfer speculation. Try & keep hold of them. I dont think we need to do too much in the transfer market. Ship out who I've said, push through youngsters, ie Gradel, Beswick etc. & get 3 or 4 players in.

Agree, no need to bring in tons of players, just ship out 10 or so of the dead wood and have a core of players who actually want to play for each other. Co incidentally, here's an interesting fact. When we nearly got relagated in 91 most of the players played regularly the next season, and 6 of them were still here 2 years later under Little : Mauchlen, Walsh, Wright, Russell, Mills, Gibson, Smith, Kitson, Oldifeld where all here when we nearly got relegated and Walsh, James, Mills, Gibson, Smith and Oldifeld were still there 2 years later. We get the right Manager and we could walk Div 1.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Can anyone truly see a striker who scored 10 goals in the championship playing most of them out of position staying? Then again he fooked up that free kick YOUR STAYING HUMEY BOY!!!
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Bori & Zsolt will go if Ollie goes. Although they could be good back up in League One.
Master Fox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Bori & Zsolt will go if Ollie goes.Although they could be good back up in League One. No!!! Not Bori & Zsolt. They were brilliant last season. If we are keep anyone, we need to keep these amazing guys!
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 No!!! Not Bori & Zsolt. They were brilliant last season. If we are keep anyone, we need to keep these amazing guys! Ok, no need to be sarcastic is there I was just building on what I said on page two thats all. I agree they haven't been great, my point was they could be useful as back-up in the 3rd division.

I agree they haven't been great, my point was they could be useful as back-up in the 3rd division. Yes because they were good back ups this season My team for next season would be... Henderson Chambers McAuley Worley (Academy)Bell Weso Clemence GradelFryatt Hume
Tilley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Yep. As I said in my first point in this thread, We don't need to buy much I don't think, Just ship out some shit, push through youngsters, keep hold of the 'better' players we have & buy 3 or 4. Campbell & Fryatt are League One strikers anyway & could be useful next season too.
Blue Bob Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 My first thoughts are that this squad got us relegated for the first time in our history and for me they can all go. On my second thoughts there are a few who seem to be commited to the club i.e. Hume, Mccauley, Kisnorbo. All the loan players will go back. I hope we get rid of some of the dead wood but fear they will sit on their contracts for one last pay day. I believe this has been the main cause of our downfall that we have a squad of players who have played at a higher level and have now had to drop a league. Because of this they are bitter and have no ambition to prove themselves ... just some of these are : Douglas, Howard, Hayles, Oakley, Clemence, N'gotty, Campbell, Chambers. I believe we should be looking for the younger players who are in the lower divisions (yes I know we are) but are up and coming and have something to prove, ambition ect.

RoosterRussell92 Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I don't care about any of the older players (cept perhaps Henderson), they're not the future. I seriously would rather we stayed in League One for a season and played good football with a young side than to cobble together a bunch of older lads and go up, because it just isn't sustainable. We should start from scratch, pick the best 11 from the academy lads and then sign decent, young, hungry players from other clubs in League 1 to fill in the gaps were the players lack quality. Henderson Stearman Worley Rowe-Turner MattockGradel King Wesolowski© BeswickSappleton HumeSubs; Cisak, Cox, McKay, Sappleton, C.King Something like that anyway. Shame we can't get Shush! to sign a new contract, maybe we'll come back with another offer now? Ofc that's dependant on Stearman and Mattock staying, Cox can come in at rightback and we'd probably have to sign a left back. But from that we could make improvements - A new centreback definately, some wingers, maybe a central midfielder. Youth, talent and hunger being the keywords. If it's going tits-up come January, sign some experience, having not spent much in the summer we should be in a position to buy some reinforcements. I would be excited to watch that side emerge. Good post, agree with most of that. I'd add Fryatt and Porter to that squad - both would be more than good enough for League 1. First and foremost we need a decent manager and if Mandaric does step down as chairman and takes a back seat role (hopefully) we could do a lot worse than get Martin George back for another stint - at least the man knew how to spot a good manager.
