Thracian Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Thracian why don't you apply when it becomes vacant It's win win for us then, we'll hav sexy free flowing football, or it'll shut you up There's no "or" about it. That's the way I'd play. But there would be words, I can tell you, just a different kind of words. For a start the fans would be involved as never before. They'd feel like part of the dressing room never mind just the crowd.
Thracian Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Not sure if he's just another Ian Holloway type manager, in that he is flattered by his relative achievements at "smaller" clubs. He nearly threw away a 16 point lead at Hartlepool (gained by Chris Turner) before falling out with his chairman. His record of achievement at Luton was no better than Holloway's at Bristol Rovers, Plymouth and Q.P.R. And he then fell out with their chairman again. This serial falling out with chairmen doesn't bode well for any relationship with Milan Mandaric. Personally, I think it would be preferable to go down the Martin George route - a young, hungry manager, on the way up and unsoiled by any failure. I cannot imagine anyone failing to fall out with Mandaric - even me!
breadandcheese Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Didn't we go down the up and coming Scottish manager route with Levein? True, but Lambert's been working steadily in League 2 with Wycombe so he's not fallen into the same delusion Levein had in signing rubbish Scottish players to play in the English leagues.
Dames Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Never, He exposed the Luton chairman for being a crook. Imagine what he'd do to Milan.
