The Barcelona playmaker is expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer after struggling for form and fitness last season. City have made no secret of their desire to land the 28-year-old as Thaksin is eager to hand new manager Mark Hughes the players to challenge for a top-six Premier League finish next term. The appointment of former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari as Chelsea boss has seen speculation mount that Ronaldinho could be keen to reunite with his former international chief, but Thaksin remains undeterred. "We are still trying to convince him to join the club every day," said Thaksin, who stopped short of mentioning specific names. Record deal "The new manager is courting new players for the team. The football is going well." Meanwhile, Hughes is still deciding whether to complete the record £20million capture of Ronaldinho's fellow countryman Jo from CSKA Moscow. But Hughes - who will begin the season ahead of most as City prepare for their Uefa Cup qualifier, which will be confirmed on 27th June - is keen for new faces. "We have got less than a month now and there are a few issues we need to address," Hughes told City's official website. Difficult "It's a bit difficult at the moment because people are away, and the training ground is not working as it would do during the season anyway. "We will have to wait a little bit to see who does what, which door opens into where and how we can make the way things will run as smooth as possible. "There have been a lot of meetings, a lot of introductions but it's exciting and I can't wait to get started properly. "In a way it is a bit of a shame that there are still a couple of weeks until the players come back, but it will come around very quickly and then we can get stuck in."

Be good to see him playing in England as it would be Ronaldinho!

He has become a shadow of his self, a real shame, it seems his path will sway the same way is Ronaldo I hope i am wrong, in my eyes, i paid to watch the best player in the world two seasons ago, Ronaldinho was sensational, untouchable, he was just awesome!! Now, the love affair ends, he needs a change, just like Barcelona are trying to do, Chelsea, bad move in my eyes, Man City, could work, but personally i think AC Milan would best suit him.

Hope Chelsea use their millions to sign him cos can only see him going to 1 of top 4 and liverpool can't afford him, he's not young enough for Wenger and Utd won't bother with him. Deco has impressed me at Euros as well. good little player although apparantly chelsea have said they don't want him and again can't see him going any other club in England

If Man City offered him enough dosh I think he'd go. According to the papers this morning, they're about to offer him £180,000 a week.
