I was in a long distance relationship between the ages of about 16 to 18 with a bloke who lived and worked in London, we lasted about 2 and a half years. He was also 12 years older than me. It can work out if you both really want it to, the only reason we split up was because we grew apart and we remained great friends for a long long time. Weirdly enough I was infinitely more mature then than I am now.
