poynton blue Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I thought you were Scottish? PS met your man in MCR the other week at the Tony Wilson memorial....top bloke not the miserable git some people say he is
Lillehamring Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 but if were honest the northern irish aren't really pulling their weight this (or any other olympics), the scots are worth holding on for their curling prowess at the winter games, that cyclist was welsh - beyond that we may as well compete as england... anyway, the clocks ticking on my national status, soon it will just be handball and skiskyting for me....until then, my passport says british so that's what i put on forms, if anyone asks where i'm from, i just say leicester, get a bemused frown, a blank look and am left in peace

TrickyTrev Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Another strange thing about this is the way that British TV always report Irish sporting success along side British sporting success, they don't do the same for say the Indians do they!

lookwhaticando Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 Some of the locals here are mightily confused about what exactly each one means (GB vs. UK, etc). Mind you, they're mightily confused about a lot of stuff, so I let it pass. They're even more confused as to why there'd be such differences. It gets worse, they keep clustering me in with other "Europeans". You have to draw the line somewhere.
