Trumpet Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 It wasn't really questions as part of the group interview. First of all you had to tell the rest of the group a bit about the person to your left (after talking to them of course) and then there was activities within small groups. It was a pretty good experience to be honest. I had the same group interview with John Lewis, which I was succesful in. Basically, be confident, but not over confident, so get other group members involved if you can. Don't speak over people, let others have their say but definately speak clearly, understand and DON't sit there and not say anything at all. Good luck

Alexikokopops Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Look them in the eye when you're talking. Don't be afraid to stop and think a little bit about a question rather than rushing an answer and saying something stupid. Dress smart. Don't tell a barefaced lie because they're likely to follow you up on it. Don't panic and speak to fast. Finally make sure you know about the company. A SWOT analysis is good if you can find one, it covers the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats for the company, and starts with facts so it's a good summary. If it's a group thing then don't put down other people. Try and show leadership skills without being overpowering. If someone makes a good point then say so. Make sure you're not too quiet, you want to get involved.
hebangsthedrums Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I did a group interview type thing to get a job temping in an Asda distribution centre several Christmas ago. I have a sotry from it that I love telling even though its slightly wrong - will post soon, can''t be arsed now. Tips wise - don't lie, dress smart, be friendly and don't put others down. Ask a relevant question or two but don't ask random crap just so you have. Pretty much whats been posted then.

To build on the bit in bold, when I did a careers day (held for people on my course) this was the major point that was bought up in the feedback from our practice group exercises.
