stevie909 Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 "Barry was poor in the first half but he hasn't played much recently," Allen told BBC Radio Gloucestershire "But from the way he tucked his goal in the corner, when Elvis Hammond is fit, it looks like we've got a pairing that can get us goals and get us buzzing." He may aswell have just said 'i am a terrible manager'.
Big Bad Fox Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 so he expects two of the worst strikers the world has seen to score he may as well have told everyone... "yep, we're going down this season.. and ian holloway will replace me"

I asked Weso about the Martin Allen thing, and he said "he is a top manager. If he was still here we wouldn't have gone down". And interestingly, "He got me playing my best football. Even my loan at Cheltenham, I was playing my best stuff for him". He said Allen leaving was nothing to do with the players, that they all liked him. Talked about the other managers he's had in his time here as well, said all of them were basically ok except Holloway, who, in his words "lost the plot". Interesting to here what he had to say for himself anyway, and full marks to him and Joe for putting up with me at my drunken best!

Don't think we'll ever know why he had such a short stint in charge... I can't see how the manager/chairman relationship could detiorate so much in such little time, having said that it must have done.
