I wasn’t booing anyone, though like everyone I was becoming immensely frustrated with the lack of cutting edge in front of goal and how we played ourselves into trouble by giving the ball away in stupid places / putting ourselves under pressure. There was the odd boo for Faes and BCDR, but you’re right I think it may now just be about the situation and frustration with the tactics. What I like now is that you can see that the players are really trying on the field but also trying to get some sort of bond between them and the fans. Some of the academy lads have it already, but at the end of the game when the new guys were clapping the fans they were being met with boos.

There is going to have to be a point where we the fans stop with the booing. But that won’t be in this division when you fail to win against a poor 10 men when already 1-0 up with 70 mins left. This situation can only change if we win games of football, and yesterday was a chance to do that and get back to back wins etc - some positivity which we’re not used to. I think there are greens shoots of recovery potentially - but Martin needs to string a run together asap. But I fear yesterday was one of those sliding doors moments… It’s not booing everyone btw. Notably the last 3-4 players off the pitch were the academy boys who got a universal round of applause. But I hope the likes of Riis and Lundstram realise that the boos aren’t aimed at them but rather years and years of mismanagement by the hierarchy culminating in the appointment of such a divisive manager, when really they needed to appoint someone who could bring everyone together.

I think we all are. You make a good point about being totally unprepared for the league win and all the trappings of success - fine. But Vichai always learnt his lesson after making a mistake, and pretty quickly. His son on the other hand is a blithering idiot. There is KP1 and KP2, and unfortunately the night the helicopter went down was the beginning of the end of any semblance of competence and ability to learn at the club. You can both be grateful and beside yourself with anger at how it’s unravelled. And I don’t understand people who only think they can be the former.

If we went into admin I wonder whether some will still persist with the KP love in…

He’s got so much potential. I actually struggle to think of an English player like him in his position. As a country we have some good players in the midfield, but his ceiling is so high. And he’s left footed and provides a rare balance to the central midfield. He’s as cultured as Adam Wharton, but more forward thinking. Really excited by him, and just a shame as we’ve tanked we likely won’t witness his rise to the top.

I agree it’s not definitive, but it’s a marker of identifying who’s created the better chances - and is sort of helpful!
