Why are you so madly sticking up for the SPL ? Does it help you sleep or something ? My opinion on my own judgement is that Rangers or Celtic or any other SPL side are rubbish and the whole league is boring with 2 teams only ever gonna win it with the football being about as good as league 1 or 2.

Where the frig did I stick up for the SPL? You're missing the point, the only point I've ever come close to making to you, that Celtic and Rangers would be a dominant force in the EPL given a year or two, for fairly obvious reasons. Whether the SPL is any good is irrelevant, and I'm fairly sure (and I really cba to check) I described the SPL as a sack of wank somewhere in here.

You're thick as pigshit you really are. I imagine that's why you're so aggressive, distracts you from yourself.

Why would they ? Don't Newcastle have a huge fan base ? Oh yeah ..

I expected better from you to be honest, Also Albs wasn't that Barry Ferguson too good for the SPL and join Blackburn and FAILED ?! Now he's back captaining Rangers :giggle:

I was joking. Come on get with it.

I think Ferguson could of done better in England if he was in a better team, I thought a team like Newcastle would of been best suited for Ferguson.

Relatively fair point. I'd say Celtic and Rangers are a lot bigger than Newcastle myself, certainly would be with the Premier League's help anyway. Don't know what you're oh yeahing at though, Newcastle are a bit of an exceptional case in that they've had a series of nobhead managers and chairmen, and your original point is still a load of bollocks and completely irrelevant.

But seriously now, Scottish players who play for Celtic and Rangers don't make the grade in England

Kenny Miller - Failed

James McFadden - Good player but playing in the championship ... Failed

The list goes on but i give Darren Fletcher credit for lasting that long at Utd but he never played for either so he doesn't count.

My opinion Rangers would failed and not get in the top 10 and Celtic would finish top 8 maybe. They wouldn't never break into the top 4.

I don't think it'd be a top 4 anymore, I think Celtic and Rangers would challenge the top 4 for the big players and it'd be more like a top 6. And I think spreading the top players throughout those top 6 would shrink the gap for the other 14 as well.

S'all speculation in any case.

There is noway that Rangers or Celtic would challenge for a League title. Noway in this life anyway. They may have the money but what world class players are going to want to be situated in Scotland? Honestly. When they could be in Manchester, Liverpool or London chilling out with all the mega stars in these cities.

They may have the money to spend on players but they could never attract the likes of Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba to Glasgow.

Celtic and Rangers would be very, very lucky if they could win the mini-league in England let alone secure a UEFA Cup place.

I live in Manchester, trust me it ain't that much better than Glasgow. Liverpool doesn't exactly kick it into touch either. London I'll give you. Besides, if world class footballers went somewhere based on location no ****er would come to England let alone Scotland. They go for money and a crack at the bigtime and the Old Firm would be well placed to provide both.

I wouldn't want to live in any of the said city's but then again I am not a multi million pound footballer.

Give me Barcelona any day, the City that has it all.

Please tell me what bigtime superstar would enjoy playing for Rangers or Celtic? Hamilton away in the Cup on a freezing Tuesday night. Nah not going to happen.

In the SPL they are going to play 4 big games a season which are all against the same team so what's the point? Where as in England they play against 3 different sides and alot of good side's like your Villa's and Everton's. And yes the megastars would prefer to live in Manchester and Liverpool rather than Glasgow because of all the players around the same cities. In Manchester you have your Ronaldo's, Robinho's, Ferdinand's and in Liverpool you have got Torres and Gerrard and Manchester and Liverpool is about 30 minutes away from each other.

The Premier League sides are so much more appealing than Celtic and Rangers and thats why nobody would go and play for them over the 'Big Four'. Fact.

...

Isn't this argument about Rangers and Celtic being in the Premier League?
