GLC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Try Dailymotion and type in Wrestlemania 18 it might be abit better. will do, cheers mate
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 New school WWE is a load of shite. Unless you are 12 or under I guess. WWF, now they were the good old days. When I was 12 it was cool to dress up as Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and try and drop kick everyone in site.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Kurt Angle was fantastic.Great wrestler too though. Shit in TNA, but might be coming back to WWE. Highly doubt that, Angle was in a mess when he left the WWE. Plus he didn't leave Vince fired him for drug use ( Not roids) Angle has slated WWE quite alot and says he's happy to be the main man in TNA. Christian has resigned with the wwe though, he will be on smackdown and feud with Jeff Hardy ( Storyline that he was the one who took Jeff out a month ago)
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 I'm old enough to remember this when he was in 'The Nation' with Farooq, D-Lo Brown, Mark Henry and possibly Ahmed Johnson? I used to love 'The Corporation' Big Bossman was cool as. Then DX joined went downhill from then. That 'I Quit' match was unreal. King of the Ring? Watching it from Mankind's families view on 'Beyond the Mat' isnt very fun though. Yea ok I might off been pushing the limits with Hogan Rock but it would be massive The Rock would attract that many more fans for that Wrestlemania it would be unreal. Surprised McMahon hasnt approached Rock about this. I think The Rock was the biggest impact on WWF in the 90's aswell The Rock went from nothing to being the biggest superstar in the space of a year. And what The Rock can do with the fans is out of this world. 'In 3 seconds they will chant The Rock's name' amazing! Austin could never interact with the fans aswell as Rocky. WWF was alot better than WWE! Wrestling went downhill after the WWF v The Alliance. The Rock can draw on who he is, everyone knows who The Rock is and plus he's one of the main reasons why WWF beat WCW in the monday night wars. McMahon has approached The Rock many times on returning but the chances are very slim. Theres more chance of Bret Hart and HBK having dinner together or Hogan and Russo making peace. The Rock doesn't need it anymore, if you know what Wrestlers have to do its very stressful and drains you. He done it for a good 5 years and spent it at the top. I agree with what you said about The Rock and the fans, he was massively over and connected with them. Austin job was to be a hellrasier who didn't follow the rules and he didn't care if he was cheered or booed. Rock was at the Hall of fame last year, but aside from that. I can't see him wrestling again what with his movie career and being a top hollywood man. Austin will get inducted into this years Hall of fame and rumours are that he will wrestle 1 last match. I don't know who it will be against but i would like him to win the title one last time and give it up and retire. I completely agree with the Alliance thing aswell, WWF was at its best in 96,97,98. When they were up against WCW. Them days will never return because no wrestling company can compete with them like WCW did and even overtook them as the top dogs. TNA hasn't got a Eric Bischoff type, who can make you watch the product.
Libertine Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Old School wrestling = shit.New School wrestling = the bollocks John Cena Cofi Kingston Rey Mysterio and Cryme Tyme as a 5 man tag team, it can't get much better than that really.
Sparky Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 The Rock v John Cena would be bigger than The Rock v Hogan at Wrestlemania X8. And that was big! Nothing compared to Wrestlemania 2 (i think) Hogan vs Andre the Giant Was a big fan in early nightys with the likes of The Bushwackers Ultimate Warrior Earthquake Jake the Snake Big Boss Man Britsh Buldog Hart Foundation etc etc
Tommeh Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 I spent so many glorious hours in life on Attitude, Smackdown 1/2 on the Playstation. Always a big scotty too hotty fan myself.
Samilktray Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 The Hardy Brothers were awesome. But not so much nowadays, I think there both about, or have been.

When they were up against WCW. I think The Rock is still up for one last big appearence against someone, when he was inducting his Grandfather and Dad into the Hall of Fame and all the fans were chanting his name I could just sense that he wanted one more show. Wrestlemania him v Cena would be epic! Yea couldn't agree more with the WWF being better in the 90's. The Wrestlemania's well some of them anyways I can remember being 4 hours long they were that good. The best was Wrestlemania 14 Rock v Austin where Austin won that was class. It's a sad place without them. I am going to wack some corking videos up of some of The Rock's interviews later if it lets me.
LeeCovFox Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 The Hardy Brothers were awesome. But not so much nowadays, I think there both about, or have been. I'm pretty sure Jeff Hardy is holds one of the heavyweight titles at the minute. Don't quote me on that though, I haven't watched this regularly for years.
Libertine Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 There are two rosters nowadays as most of you know. They have a top belt for each roster. WWE Champion (Smackdown) - Jeff Hardy & World Champion (Raw) Cena ECW doesn't count as it's lame.

The thing is, The WWE need to move on and make newer stars for the future. If they keep trying to bringing back legends like The Rock and Austin it will turn into how WCW was when they had Hogan, Macho Man, Piper, Hall, Nash and Luger always at the top and plus had been top stars for years. Orton stands out as a someone who can be a top heel, like HHH around 2000ish. Regal is a great heel aswell, the guy can really get a crowd to hate him and i don't understand why they haven't put the belt on him because it would be like when JBL won the title. The only faces these days who are top draws are Cena, HHH, Hardy, HBK and Taker. Taker, HBK and HHH have been at the top for years though and need to move over and let people have the top spots but it don't always work out for these people who can't handle it like Lesner or Lashley. I expect The Rock to maybe wrestle again but not for atleast 3 - 4 years. Austin i think will wrestle one last match this year at WM 25 in his homestate of Texas and retire. The Rock is a great story though in wrestling, i remember his debut way back at S Series 96 I like The Rock in 97 when they did the whole Rocky Sucks and Die Rocky Die thing to get him over.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Nothing compared to Wrestlemania 2 (i think) Hogan vs Andre the Giant Was a big fan in early nightys with the likes of The Bushwackers Ultimate Warrior Earthquake Jake the Snake Big Boss Man Britsh Buldog Hart Foundation etc etc Was WrestleMania 3 in Michigan, WM 2 was the cage match between Hogan and King Kong Bundy. Probally was the biggest match in wrestling history based on the attendance that night to see that match. Think it was like over 93,000 that night. The slam on Andre made Hogan career.
fox123 Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 The Ultimate Warrior would of kicked The Rocks ass! Wrestling back in the early 90's was the best era as mentioned above. Natural Disasters - What a Tag Team that was. The Bushwhackers Ted Diabiase (SP) The Million Dollar Man To name but a few.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Regal is fantastic. So underused. Nobody undertstands in the pro wrestling world, why Regal hasn't been a world champion yet. He's got everything you need. A great Wrestler who's style is so under rated. His suplexes are mega. He's great on the mic with his snobby Brit attuide and can work a crowd with ease. If people like Cena where against Regal, the crowd would take to Cena more because of their haterd of Regal.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 The Ultimate Warrior would of kicked The Rocks ass! Wrestling back in the early 90's was the best era as mentioned above. Natural Disasters - What a Tag Team that was. The Bushwhackers Ted Diabiase (SP) The Million Dollar Man To name but a few. The Ultimate Warrior is probally the biggest douche bag in pro wrestling history. He was a guy with limted talent and was a poster boy for Steriods. He couldn't wrestle for crap and the only decent match he had was with Hogan and Hogan carried him the whole match !!! Hogan wasn't the best wrestler either. Warrior even changed his name to Warrior Warrior so he could keep using his name on the circuit and Vince couldn't sue him . Warrior last spell with a major wrestling company was 98 in WCW and they only borught him back so Hogan could win ( Hogan is very insercure about losing to Warrior at WM 6. Warrior was awful and had one match with Hogan which was voted one of the worst matches of all time. ( check it out was at Halloween havoc 98) Earthquake passed away in 2006 and Typhoon is still alive and moved on to WCW with is infamous Shockmaster gimmick. ( anyone wants a serious laugh, type in the shockmaster at dailymotion.com) Ted DiBiase is retire now and a born again Christian. His son Ted DiBiase Jr works for the WWE now.
Tilley Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Orton stands out as a someone who can be a top heel, like HHH around 2000ish. Very true, his new Legacy stable with Rhodes is fantastic. Di Biase will obviously join when he returns & it has the potential to be as good as Evolution. The heat that Orton produces is crazy, the guy is just fantastic at what he does. Austin i think will wrestle one last match this year at WM 25 in his homestate of Texas and retire. Yeah, Austin will be doing something at WM25 in Houston & they will market it to the max. WM25 is going to be huge. Regal is a great heel aswell, the guy can really get a crowd to hate him and i don't understand why they haven't put the belt on him because it would be like when JBL won the title. Regal is fantastic. So underused. Unfortunately, Regal is only seen as a mid-carder and as soon as he drops the belt to CM Punk, that'll be it for Regal, he will drop back into the lower mid-card scene, which is a shame.
