Why is everyone voting for Fryatt?

He isn't even the top player at his own club, let alone the division..

Simply because he's scored double more league goals than anyone else in our team.

Who should we all vote for then Cloughie?

:giggle: ... Steve Howard, he does so much for the team and if you rate Fryatt above Howard. Then you shouldn't be on foxestalk.

I'll explain it to you.

Just because Fryatt's the top scorer at the club (and indeed in the division) doesn't means he's the best player.

The less shallow posters on these boards will know who to vote for without needing any help from me.

That's a wee bit of a cop-out. Who are YOU voting for?

I'm not entirely convinced that Fryatt is our best player but given his scoring record he's up there and has the best chance of winning votes from other supporters.

From King, Oakley Fryatt and Dyer... I'd probably go with Oakley but Fryatt is way more likely to win so I'm just helping him out. ;)

You really are an arrogant so and so aren't you. Not everyone thinks like you, you know? Just because they don't share your opinion they're shallow? Get real for a minute.

The awards are based on this season, and this season Fryatt has been the best forward in this league - The goal-scoring charts prove so, (Correct me if I'm wrong, but has he not scored the most goals out of anyone in all four leagues including cups this season?) the main threat that people pick out before a game, is either Fryatt or Howard. Even so, Fryatt is a very skillful player at that, and he's scored some very classy, and some very crucial goals this season.

Oh and i'm just as annoyed that Howard isn't there as the next guy is, but Fryatt has the best chance of winning the award based on this season. Other teams fans will just see the fact that, Fryatt's scored again - but they don't see week in week out what we do.

Edited in reply to Ash, that I don't rate Fryatt over Howard.

Anyone that argues Fryatt is the best striker in this division IS being shallow.

Yes, he's scored shedloads this season, but who's to say Beckford, Cox, Hooper or Lambert (to name but four) would not have been equally as prolific if any of them had been playing in our team and had the chances that Fryatt has been given?

What irritated me even more was the complete failure, both by the magazine and most of the posters on this thread, to consider Tunchev as an option.

He may be injured now, but his record in the first half of the season for both club and country should make him a leading contender. Sadly too many fans, including those of our club, have the memory span of goldfish and therefore aren't prepared to give him ANY credit for the contribution he's made to our success this season.

To put it simply, I would have no worries about Tunchev's ability to compete in the Championship.

Unfortunately I can't say the same about others in the current squad - including Matty.

Yeah but Ultra, you can't give League One player of the year to somebody who's only played half the season. We all know Fryatt will win it, just like every other top scorer in each division normally does, and probably will.

Fryatt may not be the best striker in the division in terms of overall ability, but 23 goals, and 4 in the cup, shows that he's not done too badly this season.

Tunchev was never going to be in the list, he's played half (albeit a very good half) a season- this is over the whole campaign.
