What do you rate De Vries?

Give him the benefit of a proper pre-season and then judge him. However he turns out there is no way we should Boo him. Whilst he wears the blue he is one of us!

Support your team and its players :)

I think we have to give him a proper chance. He looks very good at times but awful at others. My guess it that Levein should be able to get the best out of him on a consistent basis.

Just off the top of my head that certainly seems to be the case for the past four or five years. However, prior to that there were a number of very successful players that moved from Scotland: Colin Hendry, Brian Mclair, Gary McCallister, Andy Gray etc. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Not to forget Billy McKinlay. ;)

As a number of people have said, MDV needs to be given a trouble free pre season - Then we'll see what he's about.

The trouble mainly has been we keep playing the ball to his head, and he cant head for shit, against charlton and reading in the cup we played it to his feet and he looked superb, I feel he'll be a hot and cold player.

i'd love him to prove me wrong, but i think he wont be able to hack it in england.

I've not seen anything from MDV that convinces me he's going to become the goal scorer that we need.

Yes, he often has a nice first touch, can turn defenders and can distribute the ball nicely but his lack of pace and inability to jump take away any positives.

Maybe he is still carrying an injury, whatever, I'm willing to give him a chance, but only for so long. If he's not improved significantly by the end of September then I'll be calling for his to be dropped or transferred.

you'd give him until christmas? we would have played nearly half our games of next season by then! thats more than enough time, and if hes playing badly, detrimental to our promotion hopes

again, another example of some idiot that doesnt have a sense of humour and doesnt realise that me and chimp had been joking around, notice chimp edited one of his posts as well.

i fink we r expecting a bit too much from him, dont forget hes just come from a league where it is so easy to score so give him some time and about 7-8 games into next season , and then we can start judging him

instead of moaning lets get behind him :)

I think we have all seen moments of quality from MDV, but they are so few and far between that I just cant see him coming good.
