Munzie Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 If you have Eurosport, switch it on now! The first race of the season kicks off shortly. It's being held at Doha, Qatar under floodlights at night....and it's pissing down! Even without the rain, this has to be one of the best forms of motorsport. Forget the parade in F1, tune in to these bad boys! We have British interest in James Toseland. C'mon!
isaidno Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 I shall be watching the Moto Gp race at 9pm, it's on BBC3 and online aswell. Casey Stoner to win I think EDIT, It's raining in the dark in the desert, races might be cancelled

Seemed to dominate free practice & qualifying. Don't rule out Rossi. Also, if it remains wet (and they race) expect Gibernau to come through the field.
Munzie Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 Oops! Spoke too soon! They've cancelled the 125's due to rain
lavrentis Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Bloody wimps - I ride in the sodding snow! What bike you got Dave?
Munzie Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 What bike you got Dave? That depends on what day it is
Daggers Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 What bike you got Dave? I own a Guzzi California Vintage - which is at the menders after being hit by a blind idiot. That'll probably take the best part of a year to locate the spares from Italy. In the meantime they've loaned me a CBF1000...which has more of the power that I was trying to avoid by buying the Guzzi! It does mean that I'll not be worrying about breaking down on the way over to Leicester tomorrow or down to Southend next weekend. That depends on what day it is <_<

Are spares that hard to find? Prey for more rain for the Moto GP. Maybe we can source some parts from the bikes they bin!

The annoying thing was that I was shaking so much (mostly with rage) when I got home I dropped the bloody thing down on the other side too. Parts are only a problem because Guzzi are notoriously shit at supplying them...I'm still waiting for warranty parts ordered over two months ago.

You're not having much luck with it so far. As we've discussed, they look and sound great but are not the polished article you expect when you part with your hard earned cash. They may not have the romance about them but some of the Japanese, or even American, competition might be a better option.

Now you really have to go wash your mouth out. I love it and all of its problems just endear it more to me. I'm getting old, I have no need for reliability or speed - next stop for me will be a sidecar, pipe and slippers.
Munzie Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 Think I just jinxed Moto GP starting this thread
Daggers Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Think I just jinxed Moto GP starting this thread I loved that (for 25 laps). Outstanding riding from Rossi...it was always going to end in tears eventually.
Munzie Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 I loved that (for 25 laps).Outstanding riding from Rossi...it was always going to end in tears eventually. It's the first time I've seen the whole race. They both raced as if it was the last lap. Can't believe the lead they built up over the rest. Can't understand why F1 gets so much coverage compared to bikes when the racing is as good as that.

I can't understand why anyone EVER watches F1, dull - dull - dull...I'd rather watch Crown Green Bowls.
isaidno Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 The opening round of the 2009 MotoGP championship in Qatar will take place at 1900 BST on Monday after Sunday's race was cancelled because of rain. Earlier on the weather had curtailed the 125cc and 250cc races but the rain returned with a vengeance as the riders sat on the grid for the MotoGP race. Because it was being staged under lights, the glare off the wet track would have made racing impossible. Qatar only has an average of eight days rain per year.
isaidno Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 That was a boring, processional race apart from Pedrosa vs De angelis
Munzie Posted 13 April 2009 Author Posted 13 April 2009 That was a boring, processional race apart from Pedrosa vs De angelis Yep. With Toseland going off too, my interest in that one was tested.
isaidno Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Us gp live on bbc2 at 10pm. Lorenzo & Stoner both had massive crashes ln qualifying last night .
billyfox1 Posted 8 July 2009 Posted 8 July 2009 just got back from Florida and watched this whilst I was there. Their coverage is shit. It's like when ITV had the F1 but worse. You watch 3 laps then they have adverts for 4 laps. You see less than half the race.
ACF Posted 8 July 2009 Posted 8 July 2009 Great riding by Pedrosa, but Rossi's final lap!!! Lorenzo was also awesome, riding through so much pain!
isaidno Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 Some amazing crashes in qualifying today, the Hayden & Canepa crash was sickening
Guest Posted 25 October 2009 Posted 25 October 2009 Well done Rossi!! I want my very own pet Valentino.
