tbf Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 On September 20th I'm running the Berlin Marathon with a friend, raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young. I was going to do the Leicester one but Berlin seemed somehow better(!) Please visit my page and read a little about the charity and the work it does, if you're feeling really generous you can donate too! http://justgiving.com/helandtomrunberlin Thanks for reading!!! Tom
Guest Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Good luck! You could always do the Leicester Half as well
tbf Posted 26 April 2009 Author Posted 26 April 2009 As a "practice" i completed the Sheffield Half Marathon in 1h 44 min today, needless to say, i'm exhusted!
Alexikokopops Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 As a "practice" i completed the Sheffield Half Marathon in 1h 44 min today, needless to say, i'm exhusted! Good work! I discovered today that my friend's also doing the Berlin marathon. Coincidental.
Libertine Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 I so want to do London now. Well, not literally now.
tbf Posted 26 April 2009 Author Posted 26 April 2009 Getting into the London Marathon is really hard, only one in six applications is successful! If you are denied 4 years in a row i think you are automatically accepted, so maybe it's worth starting to apply now for 5 years time!
Alexikokopops Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 I so want to do London now.Well, not literally now. I saw Nell McAndrew running it today. Fit.
Libertine Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 I saw Nell McAndrew running it today. Fit. Indeed.
Alexikokopops Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Indeed. I was doing some stuff for Shelter and was shouting support to anyone with their names written on their running tops. It wasn't until after I shouted "COME ON NELL" and she'd ran past that I actually realised who it was Shambles.

I tried this tactic with the intention of waiting the full 5 years, and got in at the 2nd attempt.
