The most you got from selling junk on ebay

For me ebay is a great place for getting rid of unwanted junk and clutter which has no use or purpose to me and making a raise.

What's the most amount of money you have received for selling something which was gathering dust, thrown at the back of the garage, had no use etc

An old practice drum pad which I had which after giving up learning the drums when I was younger ended up in a box of allsorts in the loft. 9 years later (last year) was having a clear out and saw this pad. Thought that it was worthless and was in a pile to go to the tip. I usually stick things up on ebay with a 0.01 start just to see if it will shift and if not then chuck it. I stuck this pad on and started receiving loads of messages enquiring, anyway sold it for quite a bit, can't remember the actual amount (under 50 notes). I know it's not a great deal but getting any money for something you think is worthless is a good feeling.

Ive also had a couple of ipods go faulty on me (one flew off the top of my car when I forgot I had put it there) and realised people on ebay buy broken electronics to revamp themselves to sell on. Anyway fetched 50 squids for each. Not bad considering there completely faulty and I don't have a clue how to fix it.

Ive got shit loads of toys in the loft still which i need to go through at some point, im pretty sure I can fetch quite a bit.

Im sure these are minor compared to some peoples stories, anyone landed a gold mine?

I've just started on ebay but don't know how to work out the postage thing if I put something up to sell? Do ebay automatically work it out?

No you have to set out a price yourself. Look at other sellers who are selling similar items for guidance.

Just look and see what others have set similar items at. Also if its heavy I just do courier standard at £9.99, I have a cheap link who does dhl courier for £7 a piece. If you ever need it I will send it to you.

My uncle had some old vinyls player and was going to take it to the tip as it was cluttering up the house, decided to chance it on ebay and fetched just under £600 for it.
